7 Grain Waffle and Egg White Sandwich Recipe
Savory sautéed veggies and protein-rich egg white dress up golden, toasty waffles, an anytime treat that brings out the waffle lover in all of us.
½ teaspoon extra virgin olive oil
½ teaspoon chopped organic shallot
2 tablespoons diced organic tri-colored bell peppers
½ teaspoon chopped fresh basil leaf
1/8 cup chopped organic broccoli florets
1 free-range egg white
2 toasted Kashi® 7 Grain Waffles
1. Heat the oil in a large non-stick sauté pan over medium heat. Add the shallot and cook over medium heat for two minutes while stirring occasionally. Now add the bell peppers and basil and continue to cook for another two minutes.
2. Add the broccoli and continue to cook for an additional two minutes. At this time the broccoli should be soft and a beautifully bright green color.
3. Now add the egg whites and cook just until soft. Place the egg whites and veggies on the toasted waffles and serve.
