We believe food should do more.

At Kashi, we’re a posse of nutrient obsessed wellness enthusiasts. But we are also, real people, with real jobs and real commitments, who want the best start to our days, just like you do. We’re all on a journey with wellness, and we’ve been on ours for over 35 years. We value not just the foods we make, but how we make them by being progressive and mindful of sustainable and ethical farming practices. Inside every box, bag and wrapper, there’s not just real food, but a real food philosophy at work. Our passion around plant based nutrient density means we go the extra mile, so you don’t have to. At Kashi, we believe life is for living - so get out and live it! And leave the nutrition you need to fuel you, to us.

Did you know…Less than 1% of farmland in the U.S. is certified organic?
Not many others do either. It’s kind of shocking, isn’t it?

Part of the reason is farmers face some steep barriers during the three-year transition period required to achieve USDA Organic Certification. And while more organic farmland is good for all of us, it’s difficult for farmers to make the change because they don’t see a return on investment immediately.

So we’re out to change it. We’re supporting farmers in transition to organic with cereals made with crops from transitional farmland. To make them, we’ve partnered with Quality Assurance International (QAI) to create a “Certified Transitional” standard. Just like the USDA Organic or Non-GMO Project Verified labels, the “Certified Transitional” badge will symbolize goods produced at the highest standards during a farmer’s transition to organic farming while paying them fair wages. It’s a badge we hope you’ll see not just on Kashi packaging, but on packaging everywhere so we can make a difference in the food system together.
