Super Trail Mix

Created by Mollie Katzen Read more cereal, kid friendly favorite, No Dairy Ingredients Needed, snacking, snacks, vegan, and vegetarian

Ratios are suggested, rather than measured amounts. Have fun winging it!

Note: You have the option to lightly toast the seeds and nuts before adding them. The flavor will be just that much deeper.

Ingredients

  • 2 parts Kashi™ cereal (my favorites are Strawberry Fields™ and Kashi® granolas)
  • 2 parts almonds
  • 2 parts walnuts
  • 2 parts sunflower seeds
  • 1 part pumpkin seeds
  • 1/2 part organic raisins
  • 1/2 part dried organic cranberries

Directions

  1. Put all ingredients in a large bowl and toss to combine thoroughly.
  2. Store finished mix in individual sandwich bags with 1/2 cup of trail mix in each. Take one bag with you each day when you’re eating on the go.

This trail mix recipe looks good, and I think it will be a good diabetic friendly snack, especially with the amount of protein, and fiber it contains. All ingredients are healthy choices, and contain the “good fats”.

I don’t usually comment on old posts and certainly never join a site to comment but I have to ask…. What are ‘parts’ in this recipe above?
Firstly not all the Kashi cereals have the same nutritional value per serving and what if my ‘parts’ are a 4 cup measuring bowl? and someone else uses a single cup measuring bowl?
Are there still 10 servings in each recipe at only 280 calories? If so I want the first one!
Please edit this to be more specific or delete it so you don’t give people bad information.

    Thanks

Love the recipe but I’m on Weight Watchers and it’s 6 points out of my day. Anyway to cut down on the fat?

I love this recipes because I can control how much of what I put in! If I love pumpkin seeds I can put as much as I want in!
