Just made this and love it! Great texture and so much flavor in every bite. I don’t like tahini so I omitted it completely and just added 1 tsp of olive oil. I like a more textured hummus so I was very happy with the results. And it made the dip lower in calories. For only 65 calories you still have close to 4 grams of protein and over 2 grams of fiber…gotta love that!

YES, this was a fabulous hummus. Best hummus I’ve ever made! :) Even before Feta and peppers – I think those are just to make it look colorful and more fancy :)
SO for those who think this recipe has way too many ingredients – skip that step.Tahini is sold in many many grocery stores, including Publix. My favorite ones are sold at health food stores though. Stay away from this tahini http://images.netrition.com/images/id_watermark_jpg/562-0001.jpg it seriously stinks. I had to return it. My favorite is Tree of Life brand. Cheaper than raw tahini too :)
Yes, I only put 3 tbs of tahini in my hummus, not 13. I usually put only 2. I also used my Vitamix blender to make it and it was way dry to mix, so if you are using canned chick peas, save some water to keep adding to desired consistency.

I think you might be right. Once I find the tahini I will post my results. It would be nice if Kashi would respond to our comments about this. I wonder why the other posters who commented on how much they like it didn’t mention the odd amount? Curious.

13 tablespoons tahini??? That is a lot…and why would you list 13 tablespoons instead of 3/4 cup plus a tablespoon???

amerb 7 months agoI am thinking this is a typo and should be only 3 tablespoons…

Yum! I thought this was actually really quick and easy to make. It’s a delicious and colorful take on traditional hummus. I thought I might miss the olive oil that I usually put in hummus, but it’s so flavorful I didn’t miss it at all. I used about half of the tahini it called for. I will definitely make it again.

I agree. Way too many ingredients, and how many people have tahini just waiting to put in the recipe, or can even find it at the local grocery store? It would be better if alternative was given for that ingredient.
