Chunky Blueberry Sauce

Intense blueberry flavor shines with touches of lemon and honey in this easy, antioxidant-packed alternative to store-bought maple syrup. Pour on pancakes or frozen yogurt.

Makes 1⅓ cups

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh or frozen (not thawed) organic blueberries
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 1 tsp freshly grated organic lemon zest
  • 1 Tbsps organic lemon juice

Directions

Stir together blueberries, honey, lemon zest and juice in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil; reduce heat to maintain a simmer and cook, stirring occasionally, until thickened, about 15 minutes. Let cool for 10 minutes; serve warm.

MAKE AHEAD TIP: Cover and refrigerate for up to 1 week or freeze for up to 1 month.
