Made with whole grain goodness and layers of tasty ingredients, our Layered Granola Bars are delicious indulgence you can feel good about.
Each bar starts with our signature blend of 7 whole grains for a hearty, natural wholesomeness. The chewy granola base is then topped with real fruit spread and hearty nuts. And with 4g of fiber, 4g of protein and real fruit, they're as nutritious as they are tasty.
Naturally, our Layered Granola Bars are filled with so many good-for-you ingredients, you'll never miss what's missing - artificial flavors and preservatives. We promise.
Who doesn’t love savory peanuts and rich chocolate together in one? Our Peanutty Dark Chocolate Layered Bars are made with chewy granola, roasted peanuts and peanut butter, then layered with real fruit spread mixed with dark chocolate. A sprinkle of roasted peanuts and bits of chocolate tops them off. Each bar has 7 grams of fiber* and 4 grams of protein.

How disappointing!
I only just discovered this website and my palate was piqued by the reference to the healthy-sounding layered granola bars and when i peeked inside the ad and noticed pumpkin pecan was one of the three flavors it was the one of the three that grabbed my interest the MOST!!! (Although, all three sound appetizing…)Log in or join the community to reply to this comment. -

I sent an email to Kashi.com on June 6, 2012 requesting feedback and information regarding Kashi’s use of brown rice syrup in light of the recent study linking brown rice syrup and arsenic (http://www.environmentalleader.com/2012/02/21/study-organic-rice-syrup-linked-to-high-arsenic-baby-formula/).
I have not yet received a reponse. Has Kashi looked into whether the brown rice syrup used in so many of their products is unwittingly adding arsenic? Does the fact that the brown rice syrup used by Kashi is not organic make a difference? I generally consume at least one Kashi product per day, but as the mother of a 17 month-old I would like answers to these questions before I feed her Kashi products that contain brown rice syrup. Thanks.

Grain base by itself had a good hearty grain taste, while the gel/paste has a great peanut butter-chocolate hybrid taste—can really taste both, rather than a sweet mess as is all too often the case with attempts at PB and chocolate flavors. Pretty good.

Thanks so much for the sample bar, there is not a better way to get to try something to know if you like it or not. I loved this bar! I hope to find a sale and maybe some coupons before I buy them. Nice to know they are not a bad snack choice.

We got 3 bites out of this sample. Was a little too much like a candy bar for me but our nephew and niece loved it. Will definitely purchase to have on hand when they visit which is often. Thanks!

I know Moms Meet sends out Kashi samples (etc) (lots) when you sign up with them if you have mom get togethers, this is where I first tried these dark choc. p.butter bars.

I am so sorry Kashi! I really didn’t like the chocolate covering — it’s much more like molasses, but with a strange aftertaste. The texture was gooey and not appetizing to me. The chunks of chocolate were an afterthought and I can’t remember the peanuts standing out. I don’t think I’ll be buying these with the coupon that came with the 2-bite test.

Honestly, I was disappointed with these. It’s not like they were bad persay, but they weren’t great. The granola part was okay, but I thought the chocolate had a weird texture; it was kind of gooey, almost rubbery. Although I’ll finish the box without a complaint, I probably won’t be buying these again.

I picked this out just because it looked good, not because I was necessarily looking for a healthier granola/snack bar. I took my first bite and was pleased as my teeth sunk into the rich, ganache-like chocolate layer. My pleasure stopped when I reached the granola bar part. I found it almost impossible to bite threw. It actually felt like I might break a tooth if I was too agressive biting through the granola. I don’t know if the package I bought is a fluke or if they are all like this, but I certainly will NOT be buying this again.

I agree with Susiebell and Russman. As a mom, teacher, and life long weight fighter I don’t see why the granola/breakfast/snack bar industry can’t give us a really healthy bar. Just today on the news it said a breakfast high in protein and fiber helps you to not be hungry or crave sweets and helps you watch your weight. Evening News on ABC/Aug 10/11. My diet is telling me to find nutrition bars with 9 grams of protein, low in sugar and fat.

It is good to start your day off with as much protein and fiber as you can. It not only prevents you from snacking throughout the day, but also you can sneak most of your RDA amounts of protein and fiber just by eating breakfast! Easy! Plus, having a good balance of protein and fiber helps your body metabolize fat and burn extra calories! : )

Kashi is definitely a leader in providing true “whole grain” products and has more to offer than anyone in the industry! Stevia has to become a staple ingredient to make true, pure healthy products though. This is a great alternative to a candy bary, but not so healthy, having 7 grams of sugar, where a large part of the carbs are coming from. This is low considering the industry, but high when the RDA is 0 grams. There are 6 different sources of sugar, in their various names in this one bar and sabotages healthy weight goals and the healthy carbs it is made from.

Hi Russman!
Being a nutritionist, I can tell you that the RDA of sugar consumption is 16g per k/cal. This is all “added” sugar. The body recognizes sugar as….sugar. Yes, sugar is sugar is sugar, but as long as you are consuming natural sources of sugar in small amounts, you should be considerably healthy, and are doing your body a favor! ; )

I would like to see Kashi make low carb and low sugar granola bars like Atkins lol
-
itzjustafad over 1 year ago
Atkins is not a great diet to choose. Yes, Atkins has low sugar, but the sugar is replaced with “sugar alcohol”. This can be as dangerous as table or other added sugars. Sugar alcohols create stomach bloat and other problems with the digestive system. Also, Atkins has the low carb content. Your body needs carbs! This is our energy! Eat 48 g of whole grains a day. 3 servings a day. (Serving: 1 oz. each./ 1 oz. = 1 slice of bread, 1 cup of cereal, 1/2 c. cooked rice, etc.) Eat your natural sugars and whole grains and your good to go! : )

Bummer that this contains almonds, as I’m allergic. Sounded really great until I got to that ingredient.

It doesn’t tell me if there is any high fructose corn syrup or solids in this product. Is there any in it?

I agree. I tried 3 different zip codes from Rockport, Kyle & Hutto and none of them came up with a store.

won’t be trying them as they unfortunately, and unnecessarily, contain milk powder as the last ingredient.. they could have easily been dairy free
