These used to be my favorite crackers, and I never felt guilty snacking on them since they were wholesome. Just got my first box of this apparent “new recipe” and am thoroughly disappointed. They now taste like burnt, salty cardboard. I might as well eat potato chips! In fact, just looked up sodium in Doritos Ranch chips: 180mg, Fritos: 170, Sun Chips Garden Salsa: 140. These crackers have 160mg. That’s despicable, Kashi. Fix it.

I used to LOVE these crackers, but not any longer. The new recipe ruined them, so sad. I used to go through 2 boxes a week. They now taste burnt and salty. Please change them back. Coke was big enough to realize they made a mistake, you should offer the original recipe again too. Thank you for your consideration in this matter. My daughter agrees too, she told me awhile back that she gave these away the last time we gave them to her for lunch. I tried about 5 of the new boxes, but now I am done. It was actually the product that motivated me to try many other Kashi products and I have to admit that this change has cooled me off to all your products, perhaps irrational, but thus is the nature of a consumer.

To everyone who posted, do make sure you vote and then take a minute to actually contact them directly. Who knows, maybe they aren’t even looking at this website. Contact is at the bottom of the page. Have your box ready for the UPC and manufacturer codes. They are surely as smart as Coke was when they tried “new Coke”, don’t you think?!! (In case you aren’t that old, Coke went back to the original formula.)

I am also in agreement with the majority of the posts that I have read. These crackers that have the “New with Tastier Crunch” are not edible. They do taste burnt as other posts have indicated. My wife and I bought these all the time and now we will not. I am not sure why some have changed while other brands have not. Unfortuately all of our favorites have changed. Hopefully the company will go back to the old receipe so we can also come back.

I am in agreement with so many posts…bring back the original recipe! By making the “new crispier” version, they just taste burnt. Seriously. I didn’t realize at first and almost took them back to the store because two boxes in a row were like this. Seriously, I have started to look for other crackers because these are just not cutting it :( And the original were amazing!!!! Please change back!

I am checking back in after posting my colossal disapointment with the new recipe a while back. Im STUNNED that with all the negative feeback ntohing has ben done or said. if you must market these rooftiles cause you spent too much on R&D and your egos and pocketbooks cant pull them then at least offer the old ones as well. YOu might find them flyign off the shelves in which case you wil have plenty of stock for a New and improved roof! BTW if you live anywhere near canada Im told they still have the true original in some stores…My sister is stocking up like its doomsday…because it is.KASHI listen to the people that pay your wages!

We are soooo UNHAPPY with the new recipe of the “TLC Original 7 Grain Snack Crackers”.
They are so BAD!! They taste like burnt cardboard. They were our families favorite cracker and ate them everyday. Now I have to return the 3 boxes I have to the store and find a replacement. These are not edible.
Please change the recipe back.
PLEASE!!

Another voice of discontent for the recent “recipe” change for the TLC original cracker.
These crackers were an absolute favorite and it was always fun to share how wonderful they were with those who had never tried them.NO MORE!
Like others, at first I thought that I got a bad box of crackers that had been burned at the factory and I was ready to call the product line … after sampling a few other boxes it became apparent there was a change in the recipe.
We always had 2-3 boxes of these in the cupboard and 1 in the drawer at the office.
Not anymore … on the hunt for a replacement.
Any chance the old recipe will be brought back??

I want to add my voice to the chorus denouncing the recent change in this once-delicious cracker to the new “Now With Tastier Crunch!” version. The texture and flavor are both awful in comparison and I will not be buying these anymore unless Kashi decides to change them back. This is a huge disappointment as these used to be a staple snack food in my home.

I signed up here so I could add a comment, which i have never done in life. Please bring back the original “original 7 grain snack cracker”. This was a staple for my lunch and now my life sucks without these in my life due to the fact that the new tastier crunch recipe tastes like baked terds. Do you guys read reviews here? I really loved the original! Please!? For Christmas? Just change things back and the universe will be right.

I always buy (now bought!) 7 grain. First box of “new tastier crunch” and they’re awful! They just taste burnt! Back to Triscuits!

It’s not clear to me that you are listening to your consumers. HELLO!! Your new TLC Crackers are horrible! Please bring back the original recipe to all of us who are addicted to them!! They were the best crackers ever; these are the worst. I’m grudgingly (and hopefully temporarily) back on Wheat Thins and Triscuits :-(

Like other posters,I thought that I had gotten a stale box of your usually wonderful crackers. However, what I got are the new and improved version of TLC. I think they are disgusting. Any chance the old and no need to improve variety will come back?

How can you change the original 7 grain cracker which is truly a daily delight and obsession of mine with its subtle nutty flavor to the current piece of little cardboard tasting cracker with a horrible after taste? I’m so sad. I will not be buying the new “Original” until it returns to the original original.

Hello. Please go back to the original flavor. I just purchased a second box, thinking my first must just have been stale. Now I realize it’s the new recipe. The old crackers tasted good. I’m suprised this new taste got through any testing, to be honest. Please give us the old crackers back! Thank you… Julia

I along with the majority of the others who commented below am more than disappointed with the change you have made to the TLC crackers. At the same time a purchased a box of the 7 Grain I also bought the Fire Roasted. I have not opened them yet, but am not looking forward to doing so. Go back to the old recipe it had more flavor and plenty of crunch. They now are too hard and taste stale. I will not be purchasing the crackers again until I see that the recipe has been returned to the original!

Neither crunchier, nor tastier, and certainly should not be still labeled as “original.” Hasn’t this lesson been learned repeatedly in the food industry? You don’t take away the beloved original. Although, to be truthful you’d have to say “Also available in New Burnt Sawdust!”
These are as bad as the original recipe was good.-

Dear Kashi,
I don’t understand why you would change a product that has clearly been so successful for you. These have been my favorite crackers for a long time and I’ve been excited that they are now so widely available. However, I will no longer be buying them. The new recipe is really terrible. I think the person or group responsible for the decision to make the change to the recipe should be fired. I expect that you will see a drastic decline in your revenue associated with this product. Please bring back the original recipe.

When I returned home today anxious to rip into my new box of Kashi 7 Grain crackers, I was bitterly disappointed! What?!?! Did I accidentally grab a box of wheat thins as I CRUNCHED into a cardboard tasting cracker… Hmm, I see…“Now with Tastier Crunch!” advertises the box. This new recipe is gross!! I just couldn’t resist investigating if I was the only one who thinks this and I was led here. Well, I have never before posted a review online, but this seemed important enough. I know there are bigger problems in the world than a cracker, but I do want Kashi to know, that I for one will no longer be buying THIS “tastier” cracker. Please consider bringing back the old, beloved recipe!

I set up an account just to tell Kashi how unhappy I am with this new recipe but it looks like I’m not alone. DITTO to all the other reviews. They are horrible. I will be returning these to my store for a refund. So sorry for those of you who bought a case. I would definitely return them. I saw that even Amazon will give you a refund. Good luck everyone but I don’t think we will ever find a suitable replacement for the delicious originals!! Bad move Kashi.

Very disappointed. They were tasteless. I’m sure the flavored crackers are much better than the plan crackers. I would never buy the plain crackers.

I am VERY disappointed with your “new tastier recipe” for these crackers! The old recipe was so satisfying and hearty—I would go out of my way to buy those unique crackers… but they have been ruined. Why did you feel the need? If I had wanted Wheat Thins, I would’ve bought them (although I do appreciate that you want to satisfy the niche for people who want an all-natural alternative)… Couldn’t you have instead just introduced a new line of cracker called “7 Grain Crisps” rather than changing the much-loved original recipe? Now I will have to go in search of a new cracker – because the new recipe doesn’t make the cut…

I am so disappointed in the new recipe for the Kashi TLC Original 7-grain crackers. I almost NEVER post about a product, but this time I have to. I LOVED these crackers the way they were before you went and changed them. They were my absolute FAVORITE and now they are HORRIBLE. I can’t believe you went and changed this product. OK maybe other people like them; but, please, put the old recipe back on the market. Call these new ones some other name if people like them. But PLEASE put the old recipe crackers back on the market.

You have DESTROYED the Original 7 Grain Crackers. These used to be my favorite snack in the world. I’d by 2 boxes every shopping trip. Now they taste disgusting and are TOTALLY RUINED! Now they just taste burnt and gross. Put them back the way they were before. Please, please, please listen to your customers!!! So disappointed with the new formula, I’ll never buy them again.

I have been a big consummer of TLC Original 7 Grain crackers. Every time I shop for groceries I buy at least two boxes. My friend and I always take them along for snacks on road trips. These crackers were wonderfully flavorful. When I offered them to my then 3 year old granddaughter she said “Mmmm, Nana, these are good!!” However the recently purchased boxes advertize “now with tastier crunch”. Unfortunately that is not the case. These new crackers may be crunchier but that is because they are overbaked. Upon chewing no flavor bursts forth because the pieces are too dry to mix well with saliva. Please, please, please return the Original 7 Grain Snack crackers to the original Original. As they say, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!”

Regarding your 7-grain…T-L-C? yea, TOTALLY LOATHSOME CRACKERS!no way are they the ‘original’ crackers for those were delicious, what the heck did you guys do to what WAS a perfect cracker? KASHI! One would have thought that by now, you guys would have realized what a devoted group of snackers we are. Did you think we wouldn’t notice how NASTY these things are now?! They are much worse than ANYTHING I have ever purchased at ‘Big Lots’ imported from some unpronounceable foreign country. A coupon? Hell no, send back the entire purchase price OR better yet — send me a box of the ORIGINAL, original 7grain! then fire the creep that let this happen! Can you spell, QUALITY CONTROL??? N-A-S-T-Y!

I had planned to purchase more Kashi products tomorrow…. Thanks to all who posted re the new ‘quality’ of the original 7 grain crackers! It WAS one of our favorites, but I haven’t bought any in a while, and I won’t be. Thanks for saving me the trouble of returning these to the store, which I’ve done recently with other products which have been ‘improved’, of course in an effort to reduce costs for the mfgr. I sent some of your products to Soldiers I support in Iraq and Afghanistan recently, and they asked WHAT had happened to the product quality! They had requested your products as a healthy ‘taste of home’…. WHAT HAPPENED??? They trashed them! That money came out of MY pocket. Wake up, Kashi, and listen to your customers!

I am so sad about the “new” TLC original. They were my absolute favorite snack and now they are thin, dry and just plain dull. They almost taste burnt? I realize they may be healthier (I haven’t studied up yet) but they were so good the way they were; whatever they have in nutrition they seriously lost in taste. Kashi please dont take the sawdust road to health! Im such a fan and want to stay that way!

Can I just say how excited I was to receive and an unexpected box of crackers in the mail. It was like Christmas. I ran out that day and picked up some hummus to accompany them and they were just fabulous, crispy and salty and delicious. Definitely didn’t take like whole grain or anything healthy for that matter. My whole family enjoyed them and we have been buying them ever since.
