Is it my imagination, or have my favorite Oatmeal Raisin cookies gotten smaller? The outer box looks the same, but there is at least an inch of empty space in the box, and the cookies look smaller!!

A couple of month ago I didnt knew the Kashi brand existed, maybe because I dont watch tv. This box of cookies was my introduction to this brand and since then I have bought your hot and cold cereals and the TLC cookies. The second time I bought this product i took home 2 booxes :)
About this cookies: they are not to soft or to toasted, not too sweet and the whole grain blend taste better than any oatmeal cookie I have ever had. I love the flax seed hint in the taste.

This without any doubt are the BEST Oatmeal cookies I have ever had.

I love the taste! could be a touch softer (mine were a bit crumbley) but the taste is amazing! I was a bit put off when I opened the box and saw that it was a plastic tray within a plastic bag within a box! Come one Kashi could you not print all that advertising stuff on the bag?? Is a cardboard box necessary? I understand the plastic tray it keeps the cookies from being crushed, but the box is not necessary if you are using a plastic bag within! I commend the healthy approach with the foods but can we also try to be earth healthy as well and not double package!

  21. User_48

Delicious flavor! The nuts and seeds are just right. I love that they are not overly sweet nor oily. They look nothing like the image on the package. Rather than individually package them, avoid the extra waste and create a resealable package. BTW they have poor shelf visibility due to the oddly sized box.

    1. User_48
      jkendall05 7 months ago

I agree! I was a bit put off by the bag in a box! I was like… could they not just print all that stuff on the bag and call it good? The box felt wasteful to me!

I was really looking forward to these when I picked them up in the store but they really were VERY DRY and not very flavorful. Maybe it was just this particular box but I would not buy these again. I was surprised that they weren’t individually wrapped which, considering the cost of a package, would have been better and might have kept them from drying out so much. I recommend Kashi rework the recipe for these cookies and package them individually. The cookies are a good idea—but not in this particular form and packaging!

personally wrapping them sounds a bit wasteful… as does the bag in a box! Maybe just making the bag the main packaging with the plastic tray and just reworking the bag would be a better approach???

This product awful! First packaging is not representative. You see this big yummy cookie on the box and when you open this box you see only 8 tiny cookies which don’t look like this picture on the box. Second these cookies don’t taste good and they are tiny. It is A LOT of packaging for only 8 cookies. Box, plastic wrapper and plastic tray. Smaller packaging means less waste (less to recycle), more cookies can be shipped in one truck/container = less fuel per cookie. Lose the box and just go with the wrapper and tray like Oreo packaging. Cookie taste was ok but very dry. I will try the microwave. I love all other Kashi foods so this was a disappointment. I won’t buy these again.

I am a bit disappointed by these cookies. They are advertised as having flax seeds, which provide Omega-3. But it is common knowledge that the body can not process and digest whole flax seeds. Flax needs to be either ground or in oil form. It feels like sneaky advertising and shameless promotion. Are they adding flax to this cookie so they can put claim omega-3 on their packaging? I would expect this from Hostess of General Mills, but not from Kashi, a company of high integrity and morality. Or, perhaps I am mistaken and they use ground flax in these cookies…

    1. User_48
      homesong over 1 year ago

You may be right – I thought the same thing when I saw the whole seeds in the cookie – and the ingredients label does say whole flax seeds. The box also says that Omega 3’s are from the walnuts as well, but I guess this could be misleading. The seeds do add to texture, though, and it is a delicious cookie. Maybe the company can clarify this in the future.
