Yummy—a bit on the sweeter side, but it is a healthier way to get the sweet-fix, and my kids love it. We add it to plain yogurt, and stir it in with fruit for a crunchy breakfast parfait.

It works great with Sun Butter or peanut butter for making cereal bars for the kids—they LOVE it.

If I am correct, these corn flakes are the same as were in your Cranberry Sunrise cereal, which happened to be one of my favorite cereals ever. Was so disappointed when it was taken off the market! I heard somewhere that this was done because your company did not want to guarantee that it was gluten-free. That the product appeared to be gluten-free from the ingredient label was the only reason I tried it. I had no problem then and have had no problem now with your 2 new products. I do hope you keep these products available and that you can eventually label them as gluten-free. Perhaps you could reserve a production line and storage facility for gluten-free products only. I know I would be a regular customer and could recommend these products to other people with Celiac Disease.

I like this cereal. The texture bothered me at first but it grew on me.

I had the same experience with the now-defunct “Golden Goodness” cereal. And, like “Golden Goodness”, both “Simply Maize” and “Indigo Morning” have suddenly disappeared from my local supermarket shelves.

    Go figure!

Horribly sweet. It’s like a mouth full of sugar. Not what I expected from Kashi.

I’m a fan of Kashi products and like many of the company’s cereals. So when I saw Simply Maize of the shelf, I tried a box, even though it wasn’t on sale and I didn’t have a coupon. If you knew me, you would know that that means I had faith in the product and the company because I am a bargain hunter. I was SOOOOO Disappointed!!!. Simply Maize is simply sugar. Not at all what I expected from this company. If your kids can’t get enough of the popular candy-based cereals for breakfast, they may like this. I didn’t.

This cereal is not labeled gluten free which it could be based on the ingredient list. In these cases I assume that the product has been subjected to possible cross contamination during processing which is quite possible because Kashi produces a number of products containing wheat. If so this information should have been included on the label. Am I correct in assuming that it is not gluten free? I purchased it because I can eat it, but my wife can’t.

Thanks for your interest in gluten-free Kashi foods. As you may be aware the majority of our foods contain gluten. This is due to our foundation and focus on the unique blend known as Kashi Seven Whole Grains and Sesame® that includes ingredients such as wheat, rye and barley, which contain gluten. The ingredients in Simply Maize are not expected to contain gluten; however, these will not be labeled gluten-free until thorough gluten testing is complete. Thanks for posting.

It’s delicious and simple, not too sweet. The ingredients list is a mere 4 items and the sugar is unrefined. Additionally, the corn is non-GMO and organic.

It would have to be Non-GMO in order to be USDA Organic, which it appears to be.Your post is a few months old, but their new boxes now state that this particular products in part of the Non-GMO Project. You have to be careful, as only nine (9) of Kashi’s entire line of products are certified Non-GMO.

When we are shopping for groceries, if we cannot find a product listed as Non-GMO, we always do Certified Organic, as laws/rules state that they cannot use GMO ingredients in 100% Organic products.

I really like this cereal, I love the texture, flavor and crispiness of the cereal. I enjoy it with milk or mixed in with yogurt. It is very good as a snack as well. Hard to think of this cereal as a corn flake. I love the crispy puffiness.

Try Whole Foods…that is the only place I can find the cereal t2020.

I would prefer if this cereal was a flake instead of a puff. The texture is unpleasant once it is combined with milk. I have resorted to eating it as a snack out of the box instead of as a morning meal. But I don’t enjoy it. I won’t be purchasing it again.
