Sooo delicious. Too little salt is not good for flavor or health.
Research published in the Journal of the American Medical Association revealed that the less sodium excreted in your urine (a marker of salt consumption), the greater the risk of dying from heart disease.5 This study followed 3,681 middle-aged healthy Europeans for eight years.
The findings do suggest that sodium guidelines should perhaps take into account differences among individuals, says Randal Thomas, M.D., a preventive cardiologist at the Mayo Clinic, in Rochester, Minnesota.
“We know that not everybody is as sensitive to sodium in their diet as others. Even among people with high blood pressure, no more than half are probably sodium sensitive, and in the general population, it’s probably less than 10 percent,” Thomas says. “In setting up a public policy, it’s important to recognize the need to have a policy that doesn’t punish the majority for the benefit of the minority.”Log in or join the community to reply to this comment. -

It’s been at least three months since the Kashi online store stopped selling Nuggets. This is really, really stupid of Kellogg’s/Kashi. I can’t think of any reason why the corporation would do this, unless it’s because the product is so much better than the similar Post Grape Nuts and somehow Post is putting pressure on Kellogg’s about that. That would be weird. Yet I suspect that is the case in some supermarkets. Target stopped carrying 7-grain Nuggets several years ago — you couldn’t get a straight answer out of Target about that — and I’ll bet that Post was behind it, because Grape Nuts sales were dropping. At any rate, that was when I started ordering Nuggets through the mail. Now only one natural-foods store in my area has it. To echo other comments here — if the Nuggets are discontinued, I am THROUGH WITH KASHI and Kellogg’s. Je me souviens.

Unlike many of the commenters below, I’m NOT a longtime consumer of this cereal—I just recently got hooked by a friend who, based on what I’m reading below, may have unknowingly had the last box of this precious stuff left on the planet. I am now utterly addicted, but have yet to find it in a single store in the L.A. area. Kashi, with fans raving about this product like you have, you’d be INSANE (if it’s possible for a corporation to be insane) to not have this stuff back on shelves as soon as humanly (or corporately) possible. Now go. Get moving! What are you doing reading this? You’ve got cereal to produce!

I found Kashi Nuggets in LA area at Whole Foods, and supposedly Ralphs carries them.

“A temporary hiccup” is maybe a couple of weeks. My local supermarkets here in historic Bucks County, PA, and nearby Mercer and Hunterdon Cos., NJ, haven’t received shipments in almost eight weeks—or more. It would be helpful and respectful to post more information on the Kashi web site to let loyal customers know what happened and when we can expect to see Nuggets back on our store shelves. And if you don’t know, just promise you’ll keep us informed every week, and stick to it. Frankly, the last time I experienced this type of product vanishing act with a food manufacturer, the vague assurances lasted months before I learned in a press release it had been discontinued. Just tell us the facts about when we can expect to see product on the shelves and we’ll be grown up about it. [Kashi—Can you tell I am—and apparently other commenters are, too—getting pretty frustrated? And its not missing our cereal that’s the cause—it’s not getting an informative response. You can do better!]

Please tell me why I am having trouble finding 7 Whole Grain Cereal Nuggets. When I do find it I purchase almost the entire stock on the shelf. It is the only cold cereal that I eat. I LOVE IT. Even the Whole Foods Market that I have to commute over an hour to does not seem to have it any more. Please tell me that I can at least order it on line.

I too cannot buy this cereal locally any more. I was recently in Albuquerque NM and found it in a Coop Store. I bought two boxes to bring home. I had to resort to Grape Nuts, but at least I have a supply for a week or so. Why can’t I buy this online? Please add my name to the list of those who do not want to see this product go away.

it is difficult to find no-sugar cereals, let alone one that doesn’t taste like cardboard. Kashi Nuggets fit the bill DELICIOUSLY. However, they have vanished from all the local store shelves in St. Louis as well…Kashi, PLEASE don’t discontinue this fantastic product!! They put Grape Nuts TO SHAME!!!

I have been eating this cereal for 8 months and now all of a sudden, I cannot find it in any of my area stores. Has it been discontinued? I tried to find it on Kashi Online store and can’t find it there. Any ideas? I live in Tucson Arizona 85712….

I’m also having trouble finding them after being hooked on them for years. That’s why I came online – to see what was going on with them. They really ARE better than Grape-nuts and I’m upset that Kashi seems to be dropping them.

Same problem finding Kashi Nuggets after being “hooked” for years. They weren’t in Hannafords or Shaws in Maine and now they’re not in New York City! The store locator suggests sources in New Jersey only a few miles away – perhaps if I were a crow – but the Hudson River is a slight impediment for me. Have the accountants in Kellogs killed the product?

The nuggets stand alone. I am that kook who mixes flakes, puffs, and heart to heart all together for a serious dry snack, like popcorn. But the nuggets MUST stand alone and are at their finest topped with yogurt—preferably Greek. This combination drives me to eat bowl after bowl until there is simply no room for regular meals. IT IS A REGULAR MEAL-AND MORE! It’s dessert! Why eat cake when you can have Kashi?

I have been trying unsuccessfully to find your 7 whole grain Nuggets — including at two of the stores listed on your website that you say carry them. Could you please tell me a couple of stores near zip code 20008 that actually stock these Nuggets, which I think are terrific. (Much better than Grapenuts) — Thank you. Alan Berg

I actually picked up a box of this when I was working over at Hannaford. Then on Saturday I ate it after I ate it I got a boost of energy from it.
