I think this cereal is really tasty and the nutrition is solid. I would like the flakes to hold up in milk a bit longer. Perhaps a bigger flake?

I was a little disappointed with this cereal. One of the thing I love most about dry cereal is grabbing a handful and eating it plain, but the flakes are way too small for that. Everything gets soggy too quickly in milk. And there’s not enough oat clusters. I do like that it doesn’t taste too sweet though.

I like many of Kashi products, and have been getting them for years, but I was very disappointed with the “Golden Goodness”. I have gotten very used to almost no sugar in my diet, slowly eliminating it over a few months time a few years ago, and I tried this cereal for the first time. I usually get the Kashi 7 Whole Grain flakes, but it is often sold out in our store. So I bought this one instead. Although the flakes are small, that is not too much of a deal for me, but they get soft in milk way too quickly, and have no crunch; they don’t taste like a whole grain cereal But worst of all, it is way too sweet. I noticed there were 5 types of sugar in the ingredients, only 3 in the other cereal, and that could be cut to 2, leaving out the brown rice syrup, or evaporated cane juice. I will probably pass on this next time. I had another brand of whole grain cereal which has boasted high fiber and all that, won’t mention the name, but they are fairly new, and they had even more sugar in it, and it was way off the chart for enjoyable. The grains were large, and very good, but the sugars killed it. I am glad I finally finished that one. Sorry Kashi, but I just don’t like this one.

Healthy? How could you possibly know that without reading the ingredient label (which you obviously didn’t do, or else you’d know there are no blueberries and cereal boxes frequently depict fresh fruit toppings to appeal to the consumer)?
Sigh…

Funny you should say it wasn’t sweet, I found it overly sweet. In fact, I would prefer Kashi make two versions of their cereals, one with really a low amount of sugar, 1 or at most 2 types, and one like this that has at least 5 types of sugar. There really should be a low sugar cereal made from whole grains. How hard can it be? I eat a lot of oatmeal and put in a little honey, and I have actually had it without and still enjoy it. But just 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of honey to a cup of oatmeal is plenty. After all, the milk I add also has sugar in it, a natural sugar, but sugar just the same.

I just tried this for the first time. A bit sweeter than I’m used to and I think it would be better if the flakes were much larger.

Daniiello didn't love this. about 1 year agoI was really hoping Golden Goodness would be a great new Kashi cereal, however I was left disappointed. I really like my cereal to stay crunchy so I can add fresh fruit. Halfway through eating this I was left with a soggy/crunchy mess that tasted gross! The flakes get mushy really fast and you are left with clusters. Not a good combination unless the flakes are made crunchier!

I saw this at the store the other day, and decided to give it a try. I love almost all Kashi products, but I was very disappointed in this cereal. It doesn’t have much flavor and got extremely soggy in milk. I also had very few clusters when I poured it into my bowl. It is very similar to Honey Bunches of Oats (better nutrition stats but less flavor). I won’t be buying this product again.

stassid about 1 year agoI agree that the cereal was very soggy with little taste. I am a long time Kashi consumer and love most Kashi cereals – especially Vive. But, I am thinking about trying some other brands….

Corn is a grain, so in a way it fits Kashi’s criteria, but we are often used to calling it a vegetable, and think of it that way, however, I agree with you, keep corn out of cereals, there are too many corn products in our foods as it is. You would be surprised to learn how much corn and soybean is in our food. The agricultural industry needs to go back and produce more of the other foods we used to have 50 to 100 years ago, there were over 80,000 products, we now have corn and soybeans. Something is wrong here.
