What happened to the nutritional information? The calories went from 240 to 310 and the size didn’t change? What’s up with that? Makes me a little nervous and wonder now about the other products? how accurate are the nutritional labels???? very disappointed about this!!!!!!!!!

I am also wondering about this major change!! I would really like to know if the entree has always been 310 calories or if the company changed something to add more calories?

I too am nervous and disappointed about the change! I loved this meal, and now I have to carve out extra calories to eat it with no change in the weight of the entree. I’m also nervous that they miscalculated other Kashi foods as well. Kashi – please explain this change! I love your foods but this makes me nervous about eating them!

Tastes great, but unfortunately is loaded with sodium (680 mg!). Not good, if you’re interested in keeping risk for heart disease, stroke & hypertension low. High sodium intake also causes water rentention = increased water weight / bloating. It’s easy to add your own salt/seasoning, but you can’t remove it. I like many foods from Kellogg’s / Kashi, but hope they improve in this area …

I know right?!?! What the heck? I thought it was a misprint at first so I came here to double check. That’s a huge difference.

Kashi Customer Service Team 8 months agoHello, The Kashi nutrition team regularly tests our food against the nutrition fact panel. This is why the Southwest Style Chicken nutrition facts were updated. Initial production tests provided different values than subsequent production runs. Therefore the nutrition facts were updated to reflect actual production. We are sorry about the increase and didn’t mean to alarm anyone. Also, I’m sorry that this response is so delayed. We were having some technical difficulties with our reply program. If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to post. I promise to get back to you sooner. Best of health, Kathy from Kashi

I’m in love with the fantastic flavors in this entree, but lately, I have been very disappointed with the chicken. The chicken consistently contains dark meat, gristle, and fat and I end up throwing most of it away. I am still a huge fan of Kashi products and hope that they will improve the quality of the chicken. For now, I’m sticking to the vegetarian options.

Rice_Bunny loved this. over 1 year agoLove love love this entrée :)!!! I never knew organic could taste so good ^. Living a healthy lifestyle feels great! All i need to do now is convice my sister over there
pointswhos eating a whole case of sugar cookies and fried chicken then atfer a t.v. dinner dish! Common! Eat healthy! Eat KASHI!!! ^o -
One of my favorites, I’ve had this entrée several times.
Filling with plenty of natural flavor and spice. As some have noted, the “lime and chipotle” is subtle, but I find it to be a balanced seasoning that doesn’t overpower the natural taste of the overall dish. The chicken, 7-grain pilaf, and veggies are delicious and as usual, it’s amazing how fresh the dish tastes for being frozen and microwaved. -
My first ever Kashi entree. It was an impulse buy, and it was a winner!
I typically go out to lunch everyday at work, but figured I’d give this a shot at being a tasty, cheaper alternative – but still filling.
It basically tasted like the insides of a burrito. The sauce was good, but make sure you stir it very well. I’m thinking it’ll be even better with some Frank’s Hot Sauce. The pilaf is hearty, which is great. You don’t get too much of the ‘lime and chipotle’ like the copy suggests, but hey it’s a frozen entree. Either way, it was yum.
I’m going to buy additional entrees today to test them out.

All I can say is you must be from the Southwest where everyone eats very spicy food. It was plenty spicy for me — not bland at all!

Enjoyed this entry — very tasty! Of course, I’m a fan of cuban, mexican, etc food and black bean dishes. I was so encouraged by this entry and the Pesto Pasta that I stocked up! I bought nine (9) different entries and three (3) pizzas to try all the flavors. This could be the solution to lunch when I walk to work, and have limited options for food once I get there. Too bad the grocery didn’t have the Pilaf; I wanted to try that too, instead of rice, when I cook.

This is my second Kashi entree, and it is delicious. I eat extremely healthy %95 of what i eat is organic or wild and I rarely eat frozen food, but this is just amazing! i don’t believe in microwaves they are horrible for you not to mention they make your food taste like rubber so put it in the oven. I will definitely be eating this one again, I can’t wait to try the one with coconut and chicken, I love coconut. The veggies tasted fresh and the chicken was perfect no foreign bites or fatty bites… gross. So try it you’ll love it. I just signed up on Kashi to write about this entree.

I had it for dinner tonight. Great. While my microwave needed more time, love the ingredients and the fact that the packaging is 100% recyclable. No more Healthy Choice for me. Thanks Kashi

I have had this meal twice because it is SOOO yummy! The chicken is flavorful, and the rice is delicious! Keep it up!!

I love your frozen entrees. The southwest chicken is my absolute fave! It is so fresh and delish it’s like I am eating at a restaurant.
-
VERY tasty. Love it!

MY FAVORITE! I gave up on frozen entrees for a while because they’re either way too salty, high in calories, taste is always sub-par, and even the ‘healthy’ options were never filling enough.
But this one, is amazing. It’s the total opposite of everything I hated from frozen entrees. I joined the community because of it. I’ve been religiously eating one per week for months. It’s so yummy.
I HIGHLY recommend it!!

Love this frozen dinner… I also buy frozen mixed veges and add a cup or two to it before I stick it to the microwave and its very filing, flavorful, low in calories and high in protein and fiber.
-
My fave Kashi meal so far. It’s just PACKED with flavor, definitely a satisfying dinner for only 240 calories! A lil spicy, the chicken tastes real, the rice and beans are authentic too. The only problem is… sodium. It does taste a bit salty, but it is. High BP people stay away from these meals, unless Kashi reduces the sodium content. I work out a lot so I can have a meal like this in moderation – the rest of my diet is very low sodium. But definitely delicious! I have heard good things about the Mayan Harvest Bake though… I gotta try that one.
-
Tried this for the first time and I must say DELICIOUS!! Good size and very filling.
-
I love this meal. It is one of my favorite frozen meals out there. The portion is a good size and very filling.
-
The Southwest Style Chicken is my all-time favorite Kashi frozen entree! It has great flavors, it has the right amount of everything to satisfying the most finicky eater, ME! My freezer is stocked with SSC!
-
Tried the Southwest Style Chicken yesterday. It was very good. I just added my Bajan style hot sauce. That gave it just the right kick. It was delicious. I purchased two more today. I am glad that Kashi does not make it very spicey; that gives you the opportunity to add your own spices to suit your taste and that works find. Love it.
-
I also purchased this today too. Will post a comment as soon as I have tried it. Thank you Kashi!!

By all the comments I think I will try this- good to see it has only 3g sugar, since I am diabetic. Too bad these types of food have to have so much sodium!
-
This one has become one of my favorites – I eat it several times a week! It’s full of flavor & lower in calories than the others, yet just as satisfying. The fire roasted veggies pair up perfectly with the black beans & delectable sauce. Usually I add a tbsp of sour cream and a few extra bell pepper strips, then it’s good to go!

I just love this one. It is really great and my co-workers think it smells great.

i have to say i was disappointed with this one… my only reasoning would be that i’m from south texas where “southwestern” type foods are unappetizing because we’re so heavily populated with amazing authentic mexican food… which is also unbelievably bad for you… this one could have been better i think…
-
pippichongos over 1 year agoActually, South Texas does not have authentic Mexican food…they have Tex-Mex, which is something completely different
