The flavor is amazing! It surprises all my coworkers when they see me eating what looks like restaurant take-out, or a meal lovingly prepared by “mom” which actually came from the frozen foods section.

I like this meal, I just wish it had more pesto in it. I am especially fond of the peas!

It didn’t taste good at all. I absolutely love the Southwest Style Chicken, but found the Pesto Pasta Primavera to be really awful tasting. I feel I should get my money back, it was so bad. I like pesto usually, but this meal just had a bad flavor. I like peas too, but they might have been part of the problem in this meal.

YUM!!! This cooks up perfectly and is so delicious. It’s filling without the guilt. My only request is for even more veggies, if that’s possible.

Not my favorite but it was definitely yummy (just had it for lunch today). There was a good balance of pasta/sauce/veggies and I loved that it wasn’t mushy and actually had good flavor :)

Absolutely LOVE this entree- makes the perfect lunch in the office. Great Pesto to Pasta ratio, and the veggies are still al dente, so it seems fresh. Would just like you to find a way to reduce the sodium content.

I liked this one a lot. Everyone at work said it smelled great (I’m sure my breath didn’t afterward though). It tasted very fresh- not bland like some frozen meals. I also love the whole grain pasta- also hard to find in frozen meals (this is why I spend more for better quality). Yes, I agree that it could use more cheese, but I suppose you could always add that yourself.

I love pesto and haven’t had a frozen meal that gets pesto right like this one does…I really like it! One suggestion would be to add some chicken to the dish…I think that would make it more filling.

It has 11 grams of protein! That’s as much as any fast food hamburger, but kashi does it without meat!

I could barely see or taste the carrots and sweet red peppers. There were too many peas. I would suggest instead of peas, a non-starch vegetable be used. The penne pasta contributes enough carbohydrates!

The odor was overwhelming and contained WAY too much pesto. The entire product was swimming in a green pool. I ate 2 bites but could eat no more due to the smell – pretty unappealing. I have tried many Kashi products and generally been pleased. This particular product is just NASTY.

I wish Kashi made a pasta entree without cheese because I’m not such a big fan of cheese. Like maybe they could make a shrimp diavolo entree (spicy red sauce with shrimp). That would be so good, and they really do need a shrimp entree again.

My favorite meal so far! I can’t believe some others don’t like it. It’s so yummy and I love the pesto flavor! It’s the most flavorful of all the dishes and requires nothing to be added. I generally like the Kashi frozen entrees, but this one is just kind of weird. The pesto taste goes away fast and there is this weird aftertaste. I think it’s either the combination of the sweetness of the peas and the pesto. Or the bitterness of the pasta and the peppers. Either way, it makes a bland and unpleasant aftertaste.

I know it’s hard with frozen food roducts, but a better selection of low sodium items would be nice, especially pizza :-)
Our supermarket does have a couple brands with 300-400 mg per meal, which are very good, so I know it can be done.

I was pretty happy with this entree. I think I can eat just about anything with pesto on it! Since I’m not a vegetarian I did add a little canned chicken breast to it during the last minute or so of cooking to increase the protein and help me stay full a little longer.

Pesto Pasta Primavera is a delicious vegetarian option. I really enjoyed the pleasant and savory flavor of the basil pesto sauce with the nutty flavor of the multigrain pasta and veggies. However I would like to have had a more peas and parmesan cheese, but overall this meal is very filling and satisfying.

Agreed, this dish is very salty, and at times it can be overwhelming. But, other than that, it has pleasant flavors and cooks nicely — although I found that stirring it twice as opposed to just once helped the noodles to cook more thoroughly.

My first try. Quite tasty, but I have two comments:

RE sodium: way too much sodium.(the amount of sodium is suitable for a shared side dish for two)

RE peas: I found the peas very mushy. Actually, if you are going to use peas, petite peas would be a much better choice. Also – might be better if they were packaged separately and added during the second half of cooking. Frozen peas need very little cooking.

Wow, this meal had EVERTHING in it! It’s Lenten season, which means no meat on Friday’s for me. I spotted this meal in the store and was caught by it’s unique feautres. Plus, you guys had me sold with the whole grain pasta :) The flavor was perfect, and the texture amazing. I imagine for a typical person, this meal would also be very filling. Though being an endurance athlete, I added a side of grilled shrimp and pineapple, which balanced out the meal nicely (plus gave me a tad more protein).

Overall, I am very pleased! And I also just got my free entree cupon in the mail today, so plan on heading out to the grocery store to take advantage of it. If I don’t find another good meatless entree by Kashi, I know that this one is a fabulous standby :) Thank you for making such a delectable, yet healthy meal! Keep ‘em coming, Kashi!

This is one of my favorite frozen meals, and quite a few brands and types are in my freezer! I agree with previous posters that I wish the sodium content was less, as the salt sometimes overpowers the pesto taste. But I do love that the veggies are still crunchy and not mushy, and the whole grain penne tastes great and isn’t overcooked at all.

I like this dish – the pesto and peas are Yum and the multigrain pasta has a nice nutty taste and texture. One thing – please reduce the salt. It should not be necessary to put 750g of salt into a meal. People can add their own salt if they want more. When I see high salt values I wonder whether the manufacturer is trying to cover a lack of actual taste. This dish doesn’t need a cover up..

such a tasty basil pesto sauce. I was hesitant to try this one because the media says pasta makes you fat. I also have a history of migraines from eating heavy breads and pasta. somethign about the whole grains used to make this pasta really does last you through the day. Its so fillign and sustaining, that I find it hard to get in my veggie and fruit daily snacks! I have no problems with digesting this meal, other pastas I cant, but this one is perfectly healthy!
