Lemongrass Coconut Chicken
Look what’s cooking at Kashi. Our unique blend of Seven Whole Grains and Sesame has inspired some all new foods and naturally unique flavor creations in our Kashi All Natural Frozen Entrées. These entrées combine natural, wholesome ingredients like whole grains, colorful vegetables, and natural chicken or shrimp. We take great care in roasting, grilling, and seasoning these ingredients to let their real flavors come through. And of course, our all natural entrées are also packed with real nutrition, such as fiber and protein to provide true sustenance.
Chicken with broccoli florets, carrots, and sugar snap peas are all served over our Kashi Seven Whole Grains and Sesame® with red quinoa pilaf. It’s then topped with a lemongrass coconut sauce and coconut flakes.

I wish there was a “Needs improvement” or “Has potential” button. The lemon flavor was just way, way, way too strong for me. Plus, the sodium is too high. I’d deal with the sodium if that was the only issue though. Would love to see this reformulated with much less lemongrass. For those that like the incredibly strong flavor of lemon, you could always add fresh lemon zest/juice to a much milder version of this.

I absolutely LOVE this entrée. Maybe it is because I love the lemon taste and I love ginger. I though the combination of flavors was well balanced. I agree with someone else’s comment about the sodium content. I myself wish it was lower. I would recommend (and I already have ;)) this entrée to anyone. It tastes wonderful and the best thing is that I felt really good eating it.

Love the lemongrass, yes it is fragrant, but not overpowering. I believe the complaints on this are due to the combo of ginger that has a sharp flavor. I happen to LOVE flavor. Please consider revising the 680 mg of sodium. Some of your other entrees have potassium in addition to sodium and this generally reduces sodium. Ex: Sweet Sour Chicken only 380 mg on sodium but also includes potassium. Isn’t this a healthier option? Seems like it. I’m not a R.D. though. Please address sodium issue – there are so FEW truly healthy options available in the frozen section.

Lemon Pledge is an excellent way to describe this. Otherwise, it would be an excellent dish.

This is THE BEST frozen dinner I’ve ever eaten. I feel wrong calling it a frozen dinner because those words have a negative connotation, but now I won’t even eat any other brand. I LOVE lemongrass so the flavor wasn’t too strong for me (please don’t dilute it!). The chicken, whole grains, coconut and veggies were all so freakin’ yummy. Can’t praise it enough. I love you guys but this particular entree was so good, I can’t bring myself to branch out to the other ones yet.

Wow! Really impressed! I bought one out of lunch desperation at a store that didn’t offer many healthy choices… and it’s a winner! LOVE the strong lemongrass, the coconut flakes, the quinoa and the chicken that isn’t like the mystery meat in so many frozen meals. I only wish it was gluten-free…

Obviously some people liked the amount of Lemongrass and some felt it was too strong. I enjoy Lemongrass in my meals, however, I felt it was a “tad” overpowering.
I also think there needs to be a vote button for the in between! I didn’t “love” it, however, I would buy it again and see if I could alter the strong flavor of lemongrass in some other way. ; ) -
Love the taste of these entrees, they fill you up and are extremely satisfying. LOVE KASHI!!

I tried this entree for the first time for dinner last night. I was surprised that it was only 300 calories, I’m looking for a diet food that is filling as well as tasty. Not every one has a sophisticated pallet when it comes to seasoned health foods, health foods tend to be very bland, I believe that the amount of seasonings were just right. We need the levels of seasonings to help trick our body’s so that we don’t feel deprived when dieting. I especially liked the combination of whole grains and veggies with the amount of meat, I was quite full and did not feel as though I was only eating a mere 300 cal. I’m so happy about this tasty find, hope you keep this healthy entree on the market and I know that in no time I will be at my goal of a healthy weight. I’m going back to the store to purchase more!!! Thanks so much

I love this meal and eat it often. The other day, at the office, a coworker approached me to ask what the wonderful smell was coming from the microwave. I told her it was my favorite Kashi dinner. I don’t know what she had for lunch, but by the look on her face, she wished it was Lemongrass Coconut Chicken.

I loved this entree! It really took me by surprise when the first bite hit my palate. Finally, something DIFFERENT!!! I am so tired of the same old every day “chicken parm, alfredo, ravioli” refuse called “dinner”. Kashi has really nailed it for frozen entrees. This dish is spot on for how Kashi has broken through the insipid, uninspired, hum-drum dinner quandaries. I feel they are opening new doors all the while challenging other companies to step up to the plate and produce something that’s better for you and is actually appetizing by comparison.
Hats off to Kashi.. -
