The first time I purchased this product, it was fabulous, with a delicious sauce and fine balance of veggies and chicken breast. And I wish Kashi would add a noodle line to their products! In the successive times I have purchased Chicken Pomodoro, I have seen some variation in the meal; sometimes it is better, sometimes worse. I suppose that variation would be expected in a chain-line meal, and I always enjoy it regardless. However, I always have this odd bot of sticky gumbo left on my plate afterward, whether I use paper or ceramic plates. Anyone know why?

I RECENTLY TRIED THE CHICKEN PASTA POMODORO AND FOUND IT FANTASTICALLY FRESH TASTING AND THERE WAS NO “MYSTERY” CHICKEN TO BE FOUND. LIGHT AND JUST THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF SEASONINGS. THE CHICKEN LOOKED NATURAL AS IT SHOULD AND THE PORTION WAS PLENTIFUL. VERY SATISFIED WITH THIS MEAL. YOU GET A LOT OF BANG FOR YOUR BUCK WITH THIS ONE!

I enjoy thousands of physical activities for recreation and my whole family eats heartily. On school days this is a great quick-fix to those mornings where you had to finish a report and just do not have time for that connoisseur deluxe sandwich with chips and apple sticks. Unlike many frozen entrees, the portion is substantial and complete; sort of like a good, saucy lasagna with the vegetables and chicken. My only complaint is that, with my large family, we can only afford these foods when we simultaneously have a coupon and a sale at a nearby store!

Kashi Customer Service Team 10 months agoHi JackieRN. Thanks for sharing your experience with us. We do regular quality checks in our kitchens to address these issues, but it looks like we didn’t catch that one. If you have a chance, please give us a call at 1-877-7GRAINS. We’d like to get some more information and perhaps offer you the chance to try another entree on us. Thanks again.

I actually thought this was really good…for a frozen dinner. You shouldn’t compare it to a genuine home-cooked meal, of COURSE it’s going to pale in comparison. I thought it was WAY better than the Lean Cuisine crap by far…it retained the heat better and longer. And it is made of natural ingredients :)

FAR too much cheese. The picture on the box shows a small amount and unlike the website, cheese is not listed on the front of the box as one of the main ingredients. However, my meal was absolutely covered in cheese. I feel the packaging is very misleading and I never would have purchased this if I had known how much there was.

Thanks for sharing this, librarianne. I’m sorry your second encounter with our product was not pleasing. Have you read the preparation instructions? Most of our entrees need to be heated and prepared exactly as the package directs. We will share your negative comments with our team, and I guarantee we will work to fix this problem.

Daniiello didn't love this. over 1 year agoI’m normally a huge fan of the Kashi frozen entrees (Black Bean Mango and Southwest Style Chicken are excellent). However, this dish was a disappointment. Not only was there only about two small pieces of veggies, but the dish’s chicken was composed of fatty blobs. The penne pasta had a fake charbroiled taste and the sauce tasted bland.

Hi, Daniiello. I’m sorry you had a bad experience with this entree. Thank you for sharing your comment because it will help us to continue to improve and put effort into making these entrees better. We’ve been getting many complains about blandness. Have you tried adding salt? We are a health food company, so we try to use a low amount of sodium. I also apologize about the minimum vegetables. The chicken is all natural, fed with no chemicals and given no hormones. I hope you’ll continue to enjoy our frozen entrees and I am directing your comments to our kitchen team.

Thanks for sharing, debiant. I’d like to inform you that we are now working on all of entrees – and trying to improve them based on comments we’ve gotten – and your comment has helped us! More vegetables will be added, and our chicken will get a makeover, if you will. Our kitchen gurus won’t let you down! I hope you continue to enjoy our products!

I already tried and liked the LemonGrass Chicken and the Chicken Florentine, so this was my next choice. It was delicious, but I only got 4 lil broccoli sprouts! I enjoyed the pasta and the chicken but please add much more veggies to this and the other two mentioned above. If it gonna be healty, it’s gotta have plenty of veggies!

-
I bought two of these and wished I had picked something else. Not enough veggies or chicken, more pasta than anything but at least glad it’s whole wheat pasta. The photo on the package is misleading, because you do not get as many vegetables as are represented on the package, nor chicken for that matter.
-
This is my 3rd frozen meal that I’ve tried from Kashi..it def. was my favorite, but I was happy with it! I loved the garlic flavor in the chicken..very good.

I enjoy most of Kashi’s frozen entrees. I, too, avoid microwaves. I have a small toaster oven at work and use that to heat up my meals. I transfer the food to a glass container (the rectangular pyrex) and bake it until all the meat is heated through. It takes quite a bit longer, but I believe it helps the food retain its nutritional value.

This meal was the first Kashi anything that I ever tried. BAM. I was hooked. It was by far the best frozen dinner I had ever tried… and at that time I didn’t even know it was HEALTHIER than crap like Lean Cuisine, Smart Ones, etc. I think I like some other flavors better since I’ve tried them, but I still buy this one often – it’s delish. Amazing, the sauce is so flavorful, the chicken doesn’t taste rubbery or pasty and fake, plenty of spices to keep your tastebuds occupied. The veggies are an added bonus, too! Low cal, high fiber and protein, it’s great. My only beef with it is it’s a bit high in sodium content – my dad can’t eat these because he has high BP.

Totally agree with you you! Not sure why others complained about it being bland and rubbery. This was my first frozen meal from Kashi and has totally converted me on just that one meal!

Tried the Chicken Pasta Pomodora today. Was pretty good. Sort of on the bland side, however, I added some Bajan style hot sauce and that did the trick. Other than that, the food was good and very filling.

I purchased the Chicken Pasta Pomodoro today. Have not tried it yet, but as soon as I do I will post a comment. Love your frozen dinners.

I normally do not eat frozen entrees. I tried this because I had a coupon. I was pleasantly surprised by the flavor. It was the perfect amount, nicely seasoned, with plenty of chicken. I’ll purchase again and most definitely try other flavors.
-
I used my free coupon on this meal and was very dissappointed. This was tasteless and only got 1 piece of chicken and zucchini and no yellow squash. I don’t think I would buy anything else from kashi as I feel you misrepresented what was in your product and the only way I would try another kashi product is if I were to get another free coupon to give it another chance

After more than one trial, I too was disappointed by this product. With so many other truly tasty and satisfying frozen entrees available, I dropped this one from my “buy again” list. Fix it or drop it.
-
I agree with asteigerwalt & augustmommie – I wasn’t too impressed with this one either. Most of the other entrees that I’ve tried so far have met my needs & satisfied me, but I probably won’t buy this one again. It doesn’t have much flavor, there was a lot of water floating around the bottom of my container as well. And as a result, my pasta was pretty soggy too. There weren’t hardly any vegetables in mine, which I’ve noticed is common for some of their entrees. I added some extra parmesan cheese but it still tasted bland & watery. The only thing I liked about this entree was that it provides a substantial amount of protein; therefore, it’s pretty filling to me but still flavorless.
-
This dish was bland and uneventful. I finished it because I paid $3 for it, but otherwise will not purchase it again.
I keep giving Kashi a chance and they keep failing me. The cereals taste like packing foam and the chewy granola bars are bland, bland, bland. It’s disappointing when you want to support natural foods, but the organization can’t get it right. -
Yuke! This was so gross. If I had paid for it, I would have felt cheated. It really was awful. The pasta was soggy, the chicken was rubber and there was tons of water floating around in the container. I haven’t eaten a frozen meal in over 10 years and now I remember why. Everything else I have tried from Kashi has been pretty good (esp the cereal bars and cereal) but this product is a total downer. Sorry Kashi, I can’t give the thumbs up on this at all :-(
-
I am a pasta lover, but after eating all the other Kashi meals with the whole grain rice pilaf, this one fell short for me. It did seem a little bland overall – not because of salt but because of flavor. The vegetables were large and not typical of frozen meals and the chicken was good too. However, I’m sticking with the other Kashi meals which I’ve grown to love.
-
This is my favorite entree. The only drawback is it needs more sauce BUT I figured out that adding a tablespoon of light Smart Balance adds the right amount of moisture and makes it creamy and better tasting. I eat this at least twice a week.
-
Today was my first time trying a Kashi frozen entree and I was pretty disappointed. The sauce was a little bland and I was MOST disappointed with the quality of the chicken. It had fat and gristle on the majority of the pieces of chicken. Maybe this was a bad batch, but I wouldn’t buy it again. I was expecting better from Kashi.
-
-
I found the sauce to be bland and there was only ONE piece of chicken!!
-
This is one of the best Kashi frozen meals I’ve had. It’s lowest in salt, which is why I believe others have said it has no taste. The sauce and chicken were in just the right amount, as well as the pasta. A great meal for anytime!
-
Despite all the bad reviews, this is my favorite Kashi frozen meal! I had it about every other day at work while I was pregnant. It was so nice to have a light but FILLING meal while I was surrounded by all the corporate crap (Doritos, donuts, etc). Colleagues used to wander into the breakroom wondering what the yummy smell was :) I will say sometimes the sauce can kind of separate from the pasta and become watery due to the veg, but I found if you keep stirring it for about a minute, the sauce and cheese will incorporate. Yum!
