My First Kashi Entree to try… loved it! Good flavor and very filling.

Kashi makes the best frozen entrees ever! The chicken is a true test… other company’s chicken is very dry, cardboard like, and lacks flavor… but not with Kashi! The chicken is actually moist and tastes like it was just prepared. I’ve tried all of their entrees and have not once been disappointed. Thanks Kashi for making convenience food that is healthy and tasty!!

This used to be 2nd in my Kashi basket! The mixture was great, the chicken not a pre-cut hard rectangle (as in another brand). I hate to coplain, but tonight the chicken wasn’t that at all – it was 3 mouthfuls of rubbery white ‘stuff’. I had to guess it was the ligaments that hold the meat to the bone. Totally ruined my dinner…

I know what you’re saying..the chicken is fatty and rubbery… no veggies and no flavor.

This is the best frozen meak out there! Very hearty, earthy flavor which is great. Very filling and one that you cannot believe is under 300 calories. May have a bit more sodium as other frozen meal…..just cut back on your sodium for lunch and your good to go! This particular meal has so much flavor along with different textures ones that are not found in Healthy Choice and Lean Cusines’s. Awesome frozen meal and healthy too.

Kashi Customer Service Team about 1 year agoThanks for the feedback, Fatburner. We appreciate the positive and negative comments, because they give us some great direction when we are thinking of new recipes. The chickens used in our entrees are fed only natural ingredients. No growth hormones of any kind are fed to our chickens. In addition, all ingredients used in our feed are from natural sources. We will definitely share your comments with our kitchen gurus. In the meantime, have you tried our Mayan Harvest Bake? With spicy ancho sauce and pumpkin seed garnish served over Kashi 7 whole grain polenta, plus amaranth, this just might be the combo to tantalize your tastebuds! Thanks for posting.

Really disappointed in the high sodium content of most of the frozen entrees. I dragged my dad over to the Kashi section in his local supermarket, thinking the “healthy” Kashi dinners I eat all the time would be ideal for his heart-healthy diet (he has high blood pressure). When we saw the chicken has 660mg sodium, we went back to the Healthy Choice section (Lemon Pepper Fish – 360mg sodium).
Why is so much sodium necessary? I don’t get it.-
Kashi Customer Service Team about 1 year agoHi Gvelez. Salt is added to our frozen entrées to enhance the flavor and texture. There is no daily requirement for sodium, but health experts currently recommend people consume less than 2,400 milligrams of sodium a day. This is about one teaspoon of salt. All of our Kashi® entrées contain less than 750 milligrams of sodium. This is less than 1/3 of the recommended intake of 2,400 milligrams of sodium per day. So you may actually consume less sodium when eating our entrées than you would if you ate something else for that meal. Thanks for taking the time to post. We appreciate your feedback and will definitely share your comments with our kitchen gurus.

My friend told me about Kashi frozen entrees and recommended it. The first time I tried one, it was the chicken florentine. I really didn’t like it. It was bad. The garlic was overpowering. I got mostly rubbery fat in the chicken and it reminded me of all the frozen dinners i’ve had before. Cardboard, yes. I told my friend I didn’t like them and she was amazed. Then I had her try the one I had and she said “Mine didn’t taste like this. This is awful.” Well…Can’t be consistent, eh? I’ll go somewhere else. No wait. I’ll cook.

Actually cooking?! Sounds like the best option! You then know what goes into your food. Some ingredients in this product that are definitely suspect – soy flour and canola oil which are toxic and could be or probably are genetically modified.
We really need to be alert even to so-called ‘natural’ and ‘health’ foods -

I couldn’t disagree with you more. Of course cooking is great, if you have the time and energy. However, IMHO Kashi is a delightful supplement. Maybe you should give it another try – or try one of the other entrees.

Kashi is a great alternative to all the other frozen dinners. There is a reason why you tried it…perhaps to get out of cooking? I love to cook but we all know there are times you just can’t. I am happy to have a healthy alternative – Kashi.

I normally DO NOT buy frozen meals of any kind. The last time I had one was yrs. ago and just horrible, tasted like the box :). This was excellent. I was disappointed at first at the size of the portion when I opened it, but then when I was done realized how filling it was. VERY good taste. Will definitely continue to buy these.

alyin2000 loved this. over 1 year agoThis is probably the best frozen dinner I’ve eaten in a while, and I’ve eaten a lot of frozen dinners lately. Kashi is one of the only brands I’ve found where the food in the package matches the picture on the box. The entree tasted fresh and wholesome and not like frozen food as well. I also loved the sustainable packaging.

Didn’t you guys used to print conventional instructions on this? I can’t stand microwave cooking, myself. I believe you listed it as:
Preheat to 350 degrees
Cut 5 slits in the plastic
Cook for 20 minutes, remove file carefully and stir
Carefully place film back on dinner
Place back in oven for an additional 20 minutes
Remove film, stir again before serving -

It really is not too much sodium if you would just manage your meals for the day better. Try having less sodium for lunch and breakfast and you will be just fine and can enjoy this wonderful meal. It is all about moderation :)

This is my favorite Kashi product. It’s very filling and tastes great!!

Maybe I just have an aversion to frozen foods because I cook fresh foods from scratch every day, but I thought the Chicken Florentine meal was horrid. It was very disappointing given my love for most of the other Kashi products.
-
this is one of my favorite.it tastes great, makes a nice dinner.i add a salad or soup.

I had the Pesto Pasta Primavera and I thought it was horrible. So I was reluctant to try this one, but it’s a winner! Omg it’s so good. Just had it for lunch at work.. And to know its that healthy, and it was only 2.50 at the store. I’d say it gets a 10 out of 10.

This is my favorite Kashi entree. Love it. Has more protein than some of the other Kashi entrees, and it tastes great.

I am a HUGE fan of Kashi’s Southwestern Style Chicken. I probably eat it at least once a week. It’s the only frozen entree I’ll eat because of the taste, calories, and protein.
Today, I splurged and tried the Florentine Chicken and was pleasantly surprised. It was very well done! Looks like I’ll have two frozen entreess in my freezer now.
