It tastes like hot wet cardboard. I prefer plain oatmeal to this.

Love this oatmeal! I sometimes bring it to work for lunch in the winter. It’s not too sweet, like a lot of instant oatmeal, and it is very filling and satisfying.

I have even had this for an evening snack instead of something I shouldn’t have. But when can you make a plain version. I would like to experiment with my own extras. Since this already has sugar, I prefer to just add fruit for my sweet flavor. Is there such as chance to get palin Heart to Hear or Go Lean?

I noticed little orange specks throughout the oatmeal. It’s not orange rind or any thing like that because it eventually dissolves. I think it’s some kind of liquid. Has anyone else noticed this? Other than that, I really like the flavor of it! I like something bland for breakfast(except on saturday’s!).

This smells way better than it tastes! Something about the taste is way off to me. I ended up adding fresh peaches to it, which made it much better but still not great

I am in Oklahoma City, and I cannot find Kashi oatmeal in Target or Walmart stores… SO frustrating! Now I guess I will try to find it on Amazon.com.

I bought this brand because of the higher fiber content. The nutrition label says 3g of soluble fiber. This website says 1g. Which is it?
Also, why not make a plain version eliminating the 60 extra calories from the sugar.

I love this and would like to try apple oat meal.

  23. User_48

I like this oatmeal. It has a nice flavor and all natural ingredients. Some people have said they think the sugar content is too high. If you want oatmeal with little to no sugar, why wouldn’t you just eat plain instant rolled oats? Of course a flavored oatmeal is going to have a higher sugar content than that. Just my opinion.

Are you serious with this? You are trying to tell me this is healthy? With nearly THREE TEASPOONS of sugar per packet??? When are you going to get an oatmeal that the rest of us, non-sugar freaks, can eat? grumbles

    1. 48_avatar-mason
      danakscully64 about 1 year ago

If you want unsweetened, just buy the Quaker version. I know that when I make it and add the brown sugar myself, I end up using way more than a tablespoon :P But yes, I am a sugar freak. This packet is perfect for me.

Kashi’s GoLean Creamy Truly Vanilla has less sugar than the rest of their products, according to the website. So if you like all the grains (because of the fiber) you can use this kind. If not, just buy the Quaker brand.

I usually like Kashi products, but this was horrible. Some type of weird orange colored things float around until they blend in after stirring. It did not smell appealing, nor did it have much flavor at all- and I usually LIKE plain oatmeal. I just wasted $5. bah..

I bought this product thinking two things: that it has 3g soluble fiber from oats as appears to be the case on the nutritional info, and that is has “pure maple syrup” as stated above. Well, both are false. Only 1g of the 3g is from oats, just like any other instant. There’s zero maple in it… the flavor comes from a cheap substitute – chickory root, which also gives the odd color. I’m sticking with dry oats, since they have 2g, more than any instant.

I am very concerned about the bright orange substance in the kashi golden maple instant oatmeal. What is this substance?

    1. User_48
      glamorousbrown over 1 year ago

That concerned me as well, so as soon as I got home, I contacted Kashi customer service. The representative assured me that it was normal and the orange substance was the vitamins and beta-carotene in the oatmeal.

Thank you for writing to us about our Heart to Heart oatmeal. We put a lot of heart into making it tasty and including more heart healthy ingredients. In addition to oats, which contain soluble fiber to help reduce cholesterol, we added six natural antioxidants including green tea and grape seed to help support healthy arteries. One of those antioxidants, beta carotene, has an orange pigment that is occasionally visible in our products. If you see it again, please remember that it’s a small but powerful antioxidant that can help defend your heart from free radicals. Rest assured that it is safe to eat and, like all our ingredients, we put it there with our best intentions and your heart in mind.

      Good health!

This is a great oatmeal if you want to mix berries into it. I love to throw in some juicy raspberries and blueberries with this oatmeal because the oatmeal has a subtle maple flavor that isn’t too overpowering, so it tastes great with the fruit.

My 6 and 2 year old children LOVE the Kashi Heart to Heart brown sugar oatmeal. I feel so great giving this to them because they feel like they are getting a sweet treat, but I know that they are getting a good dose of fiber, protein, and complex carbs to start their day. Thanks for a great product!
