So many of Kashi products have nuts or peanuts. Many people having a nut allergy myself included, it would be nice to have some products without nuts.

So…after trying the kashi roll bars and writing a comment on how much I liked them, I was at the store today and looking to try some of your other products. I purchased this oatmeal raisin bar along with many other of your bars, some crispy ones, some crunchy ones, more of the roll bars, I get home, open this oatmeal raisin bar, take a bite and there, staring me smack in the face is a hair underneath the coating, It’s not mine number one because it’s under the vanilla coating and number two is that I have a shaved head..no hair to fall out. So please Kashi..tell me how a hair could end up in your bar.
I did not finish the bar but I do feel it tasted good despite being grossed out.

You had a meal replacement bar of good quality – now you have an inferior snack size bar. Major error on the part of mfrs to down-size both the quantity & quality of their products but at the same price point. The explanation of a price increase to keep the same product integrity would be accepted. Honesty is better. You lost this consumer who bought these by the box.

It’s smaller, but costs the same. It’s too small for a meal replacement. You could always cut a meal replacement bar in half if you only wanted a snack. But you can’t double the smaller ones. . .oh, wait. Now I see.

I haven’t been able to find the Oatmeal Raisin Bars in a year now. I found them last week. YEA! So I thought. Then I tried one this morning. To tell you the truth, I will not buy them again. That is UNLESS you return to the original flavor. It was ‘to die for’. I was sooo disappointed. Please return to the original recipe. If I want a smaller bar, I will eat only half. I didn’t choose this bar for the calories. I chose it for the taste and now that is gone. Make my year by returning to the original recipe. Thanks

Found an old box and done a comparison. The following is a comparision of the old bar vs the new bar. Don’t really see where this is an improvement. When reducing the orignal bar to the size of the current bar the Total fat is more and there is a large loss in potassium an dmore sodium. This is a slight increase in calcium and iron. Carbs was slightly (not significantly) reduced, but this could have been done on the original bar by reducing the icing slightly.

The taste took a big negative hit.

Original New Original Reduced by weight .705
      1 Bar 78g 55g 54.99g
      Total Fat 5g 4.5g 3.525g
      Sodium 140mg 105g 98.7g
      Potassium 250mg 80g 176.25g
      Total Carb 49g 33g 34.545g
      Protein 13g 10g 9.165g

Re: Please return to the original recipe Go Lean Chewy Oatmeal Raisin bar recipe

My wife and I used to eat 1-2 Kashi Go Lean Chewy Bars per day. We would travel all around to buy them if our local store was out of stock. Conservatively, I would say we used to eat 60-70 bars per month. Now, with the new recipe we rarely buy them, and I don’t rely on them as a regular part of my diet.

Our negative view of the bars started with the recent skinny/small hard reduced calorie recipe of the Go Lean Chewy Oatmeal Raisin bars. We did not enjoy the flavor, and they were not filling. We stopped buying the bars after their release/reformulation. Recently, we saw that the dimensions of the bar had changed, so I picked one up to see if Kashi had gone back to the original recipe. Unfortunately, I encountered another reformulation/recipe that tasted closer to the original, but the flavor was still not the same, the bar was too airy and, simply, not satisfying—(though better than the small/skinny reformulation).

Please go back to the original recipe Go Lean Chewy Oatmeal Raisin bars. The original recipe was delicious and served its purpose. I remember when the recipe first changed, and I went on this website and their was a statement about the original recipe’s 270? calories // 48 g. carbs being too much for a Go Lean branded bar. As many customers below have stated, 270 calories // 48 g. carbs. were fine in the bar. We, as Kashi Go Lean Chewy bar customers, were buying them because they often served as an addition to a meal, a meal replacement, or a delicious snack that satisfied. Cutting 80-90 calories and 15 g. carbs by sacrificing everything that made the bar desirable is not a good trade off. Actually, my wife and I found that we ate more along with the reduced calorie/reformulated bars when we were still eating them.

In closing, I hope you return to the original recipe Go Lean Chewy Oatmeal bars. It was a great product from a great company.

    Thank you.

    -William S.

I just love all three. I bought them in Medford,OR a few months ago at Costco and when I returned to southern Calif. rushed out to my Costco to get “A lot More” but they are not to be found even near where I live.

Tomorrow I’m going to LaJolla to see if I can find them in a store there, May even call Kashi to find out if I can swing by the office and pick some up.

They are great for meal replacements, you njust anve to give them a chance to resize your big fat bloated stomach. then everything starts to shrink. Remember to eat a good breakfast & “Lean & Green” for dinner.

Been eating these bars for lunch the last couple of days. Nice taste and semi-filling, without all the sugar and “bad stuff” some other meal replacement bars have. Only tried the Oatmeal Raisin so far…Gonna try to find the other two flavor this week. Read several comments here about the size and taste of the larger (2.75 oz) bars. When I first tried this bar, I thought it was good, but if the others were that much better, I agree…Bring them back..I’d love to taste them!! Chewy Chocolate Almond Toffee sounds amazing!! This bar taste like some of the other meal replacement bars I’ve eaten in the past (Slim Fast Bars – so much sugar, it made me feel nauseous), just natural and far less sugar. I hope the formula change wasn’t done to compete and appeal to folks who like those awful things…you don’t have to do that – It’s Kashi!! That’s like comparing apples to oranges. It would be a shame to lose your life long, health conscious meal replacement bar fans, for some random dieters…SMH. Here’s an idea – Why don’t you make two 1.38oz. bars in the old formula, each half the size of the original bar and just put two in each package, so the folks who love the size of the original bar can have a full bar and the folks you mention on the full sized bar page, who suggested the smaller snack size, can have a snack.

I can’t imagine what you did to the formula for this bar, because the old one was maybe the tastiest energy bar I have ever eaten. I ate on average a couple a day for the last several years. These new ones taste like the main ingredient is sawdust. They are bordering on inedible. I thought I must have just gotten a bad batch so I tried again a couple weeks later, but they were just as awful. It’s obvious this change was just about the money. Both places I used to buy them (Walmart and drugstore.com) sell these 1.94 oz bars for more than the old 2.75 oz bars went for. Why didn’t you just raise the price on the old ones? We would have paid, as they sold for the same as the smaller bars of other brands. I’ve eaten my last Kashi bar unless they bring back the old size and formula.

This is insane!! Its also surprisingly funny: I am writing a paper against Kashi, because the instructors flipped our positions on us. I has first put how Kashi was fantastic and now I’m arguing against it. It’s interesting how all these comments from consumers are negative, and they all say the same thing. Apparently, no one really likes the downsized, changed formula version. I know I would be ticked if the choc cherry granola bars had their size and taste changed. It is fair of Kashi to actually post these, Kellogg checks their comments and decides which one to publish. This just shows 1, how Kashi had previously been beheld and 2, how one bad decision can make a loyal customer feel almost betrayed. I hope Kashi takes into account the attitudes and preferences of their consumers.

I cannot tell you how disappointed I am that you have elected to discontinue the line of chewy bars. I loved all of them especially the Oatmeal Raisin. I exercise regularly and since I began eating Kashi Heart to Heart cereal for breakfast and one of the chewy bars for snack, my total cholesterol level dropped 40 points. My HDL level is in the 50’s. This arbitrary decision is going to affect my overall health! I am very upset. What corporate idiot made this suggestion?

My family and I are EXTREMELY disappointed the original chewy bars (larger size)are discontinued! My husband takes one to work every day as a replacement for breakfast. We had used the bars as a replacement for meals when we hiked part of the Appalachian Trail. The size was perfect and the amount of calories was what we needed. We were planning on taking these bars again in 2012 when we hike the whole Appalachian Trail (all 2,179 miles)! The smaller snack size just isn’t gonna cut it! Why mess with and change a good thing?!

These are awful. I loved the old oatmeal raisin bars. Went through 12-15 a week for the last 5 years at least. Now you redo them, they are 1/3 smaller, and every place I have found them at sells them for MORE than the old ones. And somehow you screwed up the taste too. These are nasty and taste nothing like the old ones. I tried one of the box of 4 and will never eat another one.

I eat the oatmeal raisin bars for lunch just about everyday. I might try the small ones but I don’t think I am going to buy them like I bought the regular size. I could eat 1 bar and it would satisfy me completely. Obviously you guys don’t do surveys. You don’t understand, this was my lunch! My husband even started eating mine. You took my lunch away since that was the only thing I would buy by the boxfuls!!! I am very upset about this. So wonder I couldn’t find my regular sized bars. I was going from store to store to find them. Finally, I have gone online and now my evening is ruined. Why don’t you consider making both sizes since you have upset quite a few people?

I am a nurse and am on my feet all day at work. I hardly ever have time to go to the cafeteria to get lunch and would always have a Kashi GoLean chewy oatmeal raisin bar- the large ones. I have not tried the new smaller ones yet but I am extremely disappointed already that they stopped making the regular sized bars. How am I supposed to be satisfied with a small, dinky bar? If you want to satisfy your people who want the bars as a snack only then why don’t you make both sizes? Then you will find out, I’m sure, that you will sell more of the regular sized bars. You shouldn’t have messed with a good thing!!!

Since the original Chewy bars are no longer stocked anywhere, we tried the “new” smaller snack bars. What a disappointment! They are nothing like the original!

How can companies make such poor marketing decisions in tough economic times? Does anyone at Kellogg think they have improved their product line with this change?

Two long-term GoLean Chewy customers are no longer contributing to your bottom line, until you bring back the original Chewy. It filled a need for a “meal replacement” bar that other companies failed at.
