At Kashi, we love whole grains so we did our best to make whole grains easy for you! Our 7 whole grain pilaf sides are quick to prepare on the stovetop or in just 60 seconds in the microwave. Not only are they convenient, but our pilaf side dishes are also good for you. With just one serving, you can enjoy a whole day’s worth of whole grains and 7g of fiber and 8g protein. Plus, our Original Pilaf is sodium free and our flavored varieties have 45% less salt than the average rice side dishes.*
Along with our original pilaf blend, we’ve also created two vibrant new flavors with tasty ingredients like roasted corn, red peppers, currants, cilantro and ginger. Try both flavors available in the ready-to-serve rice section of your local grocery or natural food store.
Inspired by the robust flavors found south of the border, we’ve combined our 7 whole grains with roasted corn, tomatoes, red bell peppers, black beans, cilantro and fiery poblano chilies. Enjoy this nice & spicy recipe as addition to any meal or all by itself!*

do they still make the original in pouch form?
I made this for my family and we all agreed. It is horrible. It smelled alot like a dirty ashtray and when I tasted it, I spit it out. I normally love all the Kashi I try, so this was quite a shock to me.
ohh i want to try all of them
This was very good with shrimp tacos my family had the other night. My dad even used it as a filling when all the shrimp was gone!
What a great way to sneak some extra grains into my family’s diet! I am trying really hard to break the “Rice-a-Roni, Lipton Noodle” empty carb side dish habit that we had going on. Served this as a replacement for spanish rice with our usual Mexican fare. We loved it! I think next time I will use this to replace refried beans in burrito filling. :)
This is delicious and couldn’t be easier! So tasty and filling!
Love this product. I mix it with albacore tuna, jazz it up with a little garlic and it is the BEST lunch!
OMG why do I live in the boondocks? I hope this gets to us soon b/c it sounds amazing!
Had the Kashi curry side dish. Wow!! What flavor. I loved it I served it with a little beef meat sauce I put together and it was to die for. I could eat it without anything because the flavor is so good.
I used the “Fiery Fiesta” as the side to a great veggi chile the other day, “OH MY GOD” it was good! Seems this really benifits from a complimenting entre.
I haven’t seen these in store yet, but I’m sure going to buy one when I do, looks great.
This fiery pilaf taste so great. As a great healthy dinner or just as a quick healthy lunch. For all those who like mexican food and are loving this you guys and gals should try doing this : prepare the pilaf like normal, cook up some lean ground turkey with spicy taco seasoning, and use both the pilaf and turkey as a stuffing in some wholegrain tortillas. this makes a great burrito dinner for mexican night!
I love this stuff for a quick and healthy lunch. Like another poster, I add chicken for a nearly complete meal. Addictive!!!
I have only tried the plain and despite “jazzing it up” with dried fruit, toasted nuts etc. this was incredibly bland. I would be much more satisfied with the dried mix being offered like any other grain or rice blend. It may take longer to cook (big deal, use a rice cooker) but at least it would taste like something other penance.
I use this when the family has Mexican dinner night (usually fish tacos). I serve this instead of rice. To this bag, I add one can of rinsed black beans, a handful of frozen corn and a jar of salsa. Voila! Dinner on the table in under 20.
Have yet to try. . .contemplating over the moroccan curry, although getting the original and adding my own curry powder might be preferable. . .
Very well rounded flavor. a bit spicey if you have stomach issues…. otherwise yummy!
I really enjoyed this but could have been a little more spicy!
I don’t believe these are vegetarian or vegan. I looked at the ingredients on one package and it listed glycerin, which is not usually vegetarian. Kashi usually labels their foods as vegan or vegetarian if they are, and none of these were labelled as such.
How do I get coupons???
