Since the launch of our company in 1984, we’ve been creating values-based foods. From the first innovative mix of 7 whole grains and sesame from founders Phil and Gayle Tauber to our Non-GMO Project Verified plan, we have long been committed to making a positive impact on the food system.
Kashi Company FoundedPhil and Gayle Tauber developed Kashi® Breakfast Pilaf and established the company.
Kashi Go made with organicPrior to the USDA National Organic Program, Kashi also began using organically grown ingredients in a line of pre-cooked hot cereals called Kashi® go.

A new USDA certified organic biscuit cereal is brought to market. We have nearly tripled
our use of organic ingredients since 2005.
Darzana "think tank"Kashi invites leaders in the natural community including nutritionists, academics, healthcare professionals, chefs, authors and agricultural and food industry leaders from across the country to discuss and define the factors influencing natural food today.

2011 Kashi REAL Project LaunchedThe Kashi REAL Project is launched to raise awareness of the REAL Food Deficit and promote the organizations working to keep real food in the minds and hands of communities throughout the country.
April 2012 — Kashi Commitment AnnouncedApril 30th, 2012, we announce a long-term initiative to produce significantly more Non-GMO Project Verified foods.
Veri Pure, Tested for PesticideWe developed our own pesticide residue testing program called Veri-Pure™ and worked with an independent verifier to test Kashi products for pesticide residues, holding ourselves to a level 10 times stricter than government standards.
Kashi USDA Certified
Our organic journey continued with a line of USDA certified organic cereals, Kashi® Organic Promise® Strawberry Fields and Cranberry Sunshine.
Day of Change TourKashi launches its annual Day of Change tour. A national grassroots tour that teaches people about the importance of natural health and brings awareness to small steps they can take toward living their best lives.
Snacks include organic ingredientsKashi launches TLC® Soft-baked cereal bars and Kashi Honey Sunshine cereal that include; organic oats, wheat and corn in the ingredient list.
More Organic CerealsTwo new USDA certified organic cereals, Kashi® Indigo Morning and Kashi® Simply Maize launch. Kashi Berry Blossoms cereal incorporates organic corn.
February 2012 — 7 Kashi Cereals Non-GMO Project VerifiedWe purchase over 35 million pounds of organic ingredients annually. And we are proud to have Non-GMO Project Verification of Kashi® Autumn Wheat®, Cinnamon Harvest®, Island Vanilla®, Strawberry Fields®, 7 Whole Grain Flakes, and 7 Whole Grain Puffs cereals, and Kashi® 7 Whole Grain Pilaf.
Our commitment: By the end of 2015 over half our food will be Non-GMO Project Verified.* But we won't stop there. We'll continue to increase the use of organic and Non-GMO ingredients where possible while making sure to continue to provide the positive nutrition you expect from us.*based on pounds
