Slow down

Faster isn’t necessarily better. We often get caught up rushing around and multi-tasking. As a result we’re not fully paying attention. Today, as much as possible, practice doing one thing at a time and concentrate on each of your tasks as you do them. Whether you’re paying bills, washing dishes or commuting to work, attempt to always be right in the moment. It’s actually quite soothing (and challenging!).

I have learnt that just by slowing down everything becomes so clear, it is worth it.

I decided that I needed to slow down so that I could just smell the flowers.

I choose this challenge because I am a restaurant manager, which multi-tasking and fast-pace is my everyday routine. I have just learned that if I don’t slow down, I will eventually be on high blood pressure medication, which is something that I want to avoid. So, here’s to the challenge!

It’s easy to tell when I need to back off my intense schedule & take down time, which I do frequently. I want to be “fresh” when I start the work week.

With 3 kids, school, work and volunteering, I am constantly on the go! I have invented ways to cut corners to save on time, but it seems that even if I am not rushing, I still accomplish everything that needs to get done, I have only saved a few minutes, and I don’t feel as stressed out!
