But new research implies that, among other red flags, a little light weekly exercise does not offset the effects of huge chunks of time spent sitting instead of moving. Today, challenge yourself to get up from your desk, chair or couch frequently and move around.

    I walked so far 10 miles today. Only sat down for no more than 15 minutes.

    Instead of taking a shuttle to the other side of our company (which is about a half a mile walk one way) I walked. I walked both ways! Since the weather is nice it felt good and I have felt more awake and alert since then

    I walk through our grape vineyard minimum of 5 days per week, totalling 2 miles per day. This took several months to work up to but the benefits are unmistaken and vey heart healthy.

    There is no reason for me to spend so mucht ime at the computer. I walked a little this morning and decided this is my last entry today so I am going bike riding. Bye all, until tomorrow…..

    wow! i just now noticed i should be standing while I am at my computer!! i usually wear ankle weights and lift alternate legs while at the computer but now i am standing and marching in place!! :)

    I recently stopped SMOKING I did all the challenges I can get!!!

    Any bit of excersize is better than none. Sitting at a desk too long is easy to do!

    Get up & MOVE!! I work on the 2nd floor and use the restroom on the 4th I take the stairs both ways!
