Choose cherries
As if their succulent sweetness wasn’t reason alone to eat them, now research suggests that tart cherries may possess anti-inflammatory benefits. University of Michigan scientists think it’s the antioxidant anthocyanins — compounds responsible for cherries’ bright red color — that can help lower inflammation (even post-exercise recovery!). Today, challenge yourself to grab a handful of fresh, frozen, or dried tart cherries and brighten your day.

Sliced cherries on top of plain yogurt is both healthy and cost saving. Flavored yogurt, especially in individual servings can be expensive unless you have great coupons. I now buy the plain larger cartons and add m own flavorings, such as a few sliced cherries or fresh blueberries, a spoonful of apple pie filling or some granola. Even the flavored crumbs in the bottom of your cereal box (the ones that drive you crazy in your cereal bowl) can be saved in a ziploc bag and added to yogurt for a unique flavor.
