Reconnect with an old friend

It’s tempting to think that our immediate network of close friends and family is all we need for support. Sometimes, though, it’s not. Make an effort this weekend to contact someone from your past and catch up. You’ll be glad you did.

When my husband died suddenly last summer, I spent “weeks under the covers.” When I emerged, I began structuring a “re-inventing Aly campaighn” As part of this ‘program” I have been trying to reconnect with people who were impotant in my life previously. I have re-connected with a number of people already. This challange encourages me to continue on my journey of finding poepole who wereimportant to me through out my life. The next three people are: Elena, Linda, & Jackie.

I have lost connections with a lot of people I truly would like to reconnect with. ONe of my old high school friends Terrance, he was a really close friend of mine in high school, however life has taken us in different directions. I am going to call him tis weeked and just chat with him.

I decided to participate in this challenge because a couple months ago a good friend of mine and I got into a heated argument. We have not talked since. This person and I had been friends for over 15 years. She hurt me badly but on the other hand I don’t want to throw away our past. A few days ago she sent me a message that simply said “Hi.” I want to respond but I’m not sure if I’m ready to or not. She is getting married in a few months with started the whole argument. I always thought I would be apart of that part of her life, but as things look now, thats not the case. I have a hard time of letting go of the past but I am hoping to rekindle our friendship.

I have two really good friends from way back in college – Homiyar and Khushroo. I think I have their emails somewhere and even phone numbers. Haven’t spoken to them for years…..will do it this weekend.

OMG! I haven’t seen my best friend since high school! I joined a high school website and connected with some casual friends from school, but to my surprise one of those casual friends gave me a phone number and an e mail address for my best friend, and it was as though we never left each other’s side. yes, we have aged, but the friendship is still strong. Even her parents stll care for me. Oh, life is just so much FUN!
