Runners: Fatten up
New research out of the University of Buffalo has called into question a long-held belief among elite runners that a low-fat diet prevents injuries. In fact, scientists found that runners who sustained fewer injuries over the span of the study were much more likely to get more calories from fats (including healthful fats). Today, challenge yourself to bone up on the latest research on running injury prevention. Also, remember: There is such a thing as a nutritious, healthful fat (think: avocado).
