Throw an olive oil tasting party
Did you know that in the Northern Hemisphere (where the majority of the world’s olive oil is produced) the olive harvest season starts in the fall? As a result, your best chance of getting fresh olive oil is during this time of the year.
This month, take advantage of the new harvest by inviting some friends over for an olive oil tasting party. Here are some ideas to help make it a great experience: 1) have each guest bring a bottle of extra virgin olive oil, 2) assign each guest a different place of origin for the oil (Greece, Italy, California, Spain, Turkey, etc.), 3) print out a list of commonly-used descriptive words (like buttery, fruity, or peppery), 4) set out some fresh artisan bread for dipping. Let us know how it goes!
(We’ve given you 30 days for this Challenge to plan and have your party. When you log your progress, you only need to log as many – or as few – days as are applicable.)
