Challenge your brain
Research suggests that as you age your brain benefits from intellectual tasks, just like your body benefits from physical exercise. Today, get your mind going by doing something stimulating. Try a crossword puzzle, play some cards, read a book, attend a lecture – anything that gets your mind active and that you might enjoy doing regularly.

I took this challenge two years ago. I decided to go back to school for massage therapy. I am now licensed and working as a therapist, so I think although it took longer, I definitely did it in a BIG WAY.
I do creative fiction writing
This challenge is motivating me to read my textbooks for school. :)
I need to get back into reading more now, like I used to -last year.
I found a crossword puzzle from Barnes and Noble (they have a whole section devoted to crosswords and puzzles like sudoku. I’ve never been a crossword puzzle girl before but I’ve recently found them to be fun and challenging, and a nice break to a busy day.
I have been studying for finals and have learned so much in the process. Now the trick is to retain it all…
I actully started to read classic books by signing up at www.dailylit.com! It’s free and has a bunch a books to choose from. It basically breaks the book up into bite size pieces which are great to read while eating lunch! Right now I’m reading Around The World In 80 Days.

I work on puzzels with my neice every week, do hidden mystery games and do timed dexterity tests on my computer. I also knit and sew which can often challenge my brain.
I try to read a book a week. I’ve read so many that sometimes I forget whether or not I’ve read a particular one. Funny. The only way to get around this dilemma is by writing a review on a notebook of every book I read. It serves as a kind of diary, really. Interesting to see what my take was on a particular book I read a couple of years ago. Sometimes I read a book twice, years apart, just to see how I’ve changed.
www.dictionary.com. I believe this is what I subscribed to for a “word of the day” email each day. :) Last book I read was The Alchemist by Paul Coehlo. I recommend it! I enjoy sodoku puzzles as well and watch lots of nature shows to expand my knowledge of our beautiful earth.
I work in a senior care facility, and I just finished a find a word sheet while waiting for my shift to start. I’m learning Japanese, by myself, and I’m trying to meditate. I’m some what stressed so I am unable to calm myslf enough. I’ll get there.
I enjoy reading 1 chapter from a book every night before going to sleep.
I try to learn something new every day about culture. Either a new word or the origin of a new word, a custom, or a style of cooking. It can be about any culture!
