Breathe deeply

Challenge Yourself for: 24 Hours

Simply put, shallow breathing keeps the body from getting enough oxygen, which tires you out unnecessarily. Pausing to focus on deep, slow breathing several times a day can make you more aware of your breathing at other times, too. Today, challenge yourself to engage in some deep breathing wherever you are, making sure you inhale all the way to your fingertips, and exhaling fully.

Prana…deep, rhythmic, conscious at times. Whether yogi-style or Pilates-style, it feels so good so deep. Mountain pose with deep prana during the day, especially while waiting in line somewhere in public or standing at the sink is grounding and gives perspective to the moment. Love it…

No I am not aware of my shallow breathing, but today I realize that I have to breath more deeply, that’s why I took this kashi challenge.

well most yoga says to breathe in through your nose into your diaphram (your chest shouldnt lift but your belly should expand) and out through your mouth, using your stomach muscles to squeeze out air. It also helps strengthen your abs. Breathing in through your nose helps to warm the air and prevent contaminants (thats what nose hair is for) from entering your lungs.

This exercise is a great routine to get into. Great de-stressor for the daily hustle and bustle of life. It will open your senses, making you aware of your surroundings and will teach you how to sit back, relax for a second, and smell the roses.

Something as simple and necessary as breathing should be thought about with consideration daily throughout one’s existence.
