Pack your shoes
The best way to fit in exercise during holiday trips couldn’t be simpler: Bring your tennies and hit the pavement. It may sound trite, but many of us sabotage our fitness regimens before we leave for the airport, by not packing the only item we really need to get powerful exercise: comfy shoes. Today, challenge yourself to pack right for your holiday adventures, by making room for at least one fitness item that can be used anywhere.

Instead of tennis shoes, you might want to try actual running shoes which will protect your feet and legs better. Asics, Nike, and Brooks are good brands.

An easy way to make room for tennis shoes when traveling is to wear them. They are ususally comfortable and easy to take off and on for comfort.

I have made it a habit of always checking out the workout room at a hotel when I’m traveling – if it doesn’t have one, then I don’t stay there…I try to find the fitness area as one of the first things I do and try to stick to my schedule as much as possible – workout in the morning, shower and get ready and then vacation (sight-see, activities, hanging out with friends).
