Challenge Yourself for: 24 Hours

We all know the importance of washing our hands. But what to do when you’re nowhere near a sink? Natural hand sanitizers made from essential oils are effective at killing germs and they’re ready whenever and wherever you need them. They smell wonderful too. This winter, challenge yourself to carry a hand sanitizer with you for those times when you can’t wash with soap and water. Here are some natural options we like:

Sanitizer is great but you do need a moisturizer in the long run so I’m going to try that new gold bond hand sanitizer see if that helps.

I deal with the public, shake a lot of hands, and take public trans. Help with mom at home and I use hand sanitizer when I’m not able to get to wash my hands in water/soap. Right after using the hand san, I immediately wash my hands in water. I’ll purchase one of these brands. I need something that won’t dry my skin.

I always have the CleanWell sanitizer with me- one in my purse, another in the car, always when I travel. I also use their foaming hand soap. I love the thyme aroma- they all smell great!

Due to lack of immune system, I have used Burt’s products for 5 years. I can’t afford to get someone elses germs. Some may say I am compulsive but I am just being careful. It also prevents colds and the flu.

I use hand sanitizer anywhere/everywhere I go. I’m studying Public Health and have always been told how important it is to wash hands and use sanitizer and now I tell people to do the same! The frequent usage increased when I started working with children.

I am a hand sanitizer fanatic, with 5 kids I have to be. I am training them also to sanitize, sanitize, sanitize! My oldest daughter keeps a bottle in her Locker at school and my smaller ones carry them in their back packs. With so many germs and flu viruses going around you can’t be too safe.

I keeps hand sanitizers in all my bags. In addition, I look forward to placing them in strategic areas of the house. It is good to have the foam type for your car. It is so important today as many germs are transferred through public transportation as the leading carrier when you grasps the bars to hold on or exit buses. Take caution!!!

  I am a huge fan of hand sanitizers after I touch anything…especially grocery carts and gas pumps!! I love the thought of natural ingredients because most have such drying effects to you hands. I am definately going to try these products and find the one I like the best.

    I dont know about kids getting it in their mouths (although, i would imagine that most companies have already thought of that, and made it safe); but as far as it feeling awful…no i dont think it’s awful at all. It feels cooling and fresh and evaporates very quickly. Its not anything like lotion or anything greasy. I love the way it feels!! Dont be afraid, go get some!! :)

  I never even thought of using a natural hand sanitizer. I work in retail, and so I’m constantly around people who may or may not have the flu or other germs. I use hand sanitizer all the time, but I think I’ll try one of the eco friendly ones, I didn’t even know that they made such a thing!

Overuse of these products can dry out your skin, not rid your skin of germs, but rather just scent it and make one lazy to actually washing their hands. H1N1, the latest fad scare, is like most germs. Just get plenty of rest, eat well, wash not only yourself, but your clothes and bedding frequently and stay positive.

  I work in a bakery making pretzels and constantly have to wash my hands. however, now I am even more dedicated to clean hands and keeps hand sanitizer with me in my purse, for those instances in public, etc. where no sink is present. GReat idea of a challege!!!!!

  W have handsanitizer in each vhicle’s door pockets for easy access upon entering.As well as my kids keep a pocket-size with them at school. I use it as soon as I leave any public place. Wash hands with soap and hot water as often as I can.

  I work in a school for disabled children. While many of us have learned early on that covering ones mouth when sneezing or coughing prevents illness many of my children have not. Hand sanitizer is the perfect solution to this issue when one cannot step away and wash their hands properly. I love that natural products are available to help!

  I also looooove hand sanitizer! They’ve actually started putting hand sanitizer dispensers at my school (NIU). That makes me feel that much better since Swine Flu is easy to catch on campuses.
  I also work at Sonic Drive-In and we have a 20-20 policy. Which is washing your hands for 20 seconds every 20 minutes. We have a timer that goes off and all the managers scream “20-20!” and all the employee know what to do!! (If you were ever concerned about fast food and cleanliness and I can tell you from experience that Sonic is very clean! Sonic also has the hand sanitizer dispensers as well which is awsome for me! :)
  I’ve never tried Burts Bee’s sanitizer, I do know theyre chapstick is amazing though!

  I work on an airplane and I am constantly washing and using sanitizer on my hands. I wish more people on the planes would be more conscious of what they are doing/touching and use sanitizer as well. Unfortunately you still have those people who will try and hand you a used tissue.

  I am continuously washing my hands fr one reason or another. I’ve gotten a little compulsive. I use paper towels to turn door knobs in my office after washing my hands. I tend to carry one with me for the remainder of the work day.

  I like this challenge. I am already a hand sanitizer fanatic, but like the idea of using a ‘Natural’ hand sanitizer. I’m going to try at least one of the suggested products.
