Bloom in blue

Challenge Yourself for: 24 Hours

It’s more than an old wives’ tale: Burying iron nails beneath your hydrangeas will indeed foster the growth of bright blue blooms. How? The rust from the nails changes the plants acid-Ph balance, bringing out the blue color. Today, challenge yourself to start collecting old, rusty nails—and place them somewhere safe until you’re able to bury them.

I have an old building behind my house and have been pulling nails out of it for weeks trying to reclaim the wood. I have been keeping the nails just because I did not want to throw them in the dump. Boy, have I got plans for them now! And I have enough to share with my neighbors! YEAH!
