Make weight wait

By Kashi Read more motivation and workouts
Challenge Yourself for: 24 Hours

Choosing fitness activities that focus on goals other than weight loss have the ulterior benefit of motivating and energizing us without constantly reminding us how close—or far—we are from our goals. Mastering a skill like rowing, for instance, shifts the mind to the task at hand, a great way to get out of our heads and into our bodies. Today, challenge yourself to embark on learning a new sport or training for a race with an emphasis on experience over meeting a weight goal.

It is true. You do loose weight when your primary objective is something other than, how many pounds you lost or gained that week. Instead of concentrating on loosing, concentrate on gaining a body at its top, physical potential. But don’t try to over acheive. You will stress over it, and gain weight. Ekk! Just try to do your best, and never stop.

I’m gonna try to do sprints with direction changes to train for soccer better! When I get juked by an opposing player my reaction time is so slow I give them too much of a chance to get by me!

I started working out with a group exercise fitness class (i.e. kick-box,crunch; and light weights sculpting (step & sculpt) for the past 4-6 weeks. I have toned tremendously – lost 8 pounds and several inches, current weight is now at 150 lbs. My overall health has improved drastically. I’m 45 years old & was told that my blood pressure reads like that of a teenager at 110/76. My goal is to lose another 5-10 pounds by the end of the year.

I ran a half marathon last year and felt amazing BUT lost my running routines. I love hiking & I love being outdoors experiencing nature. I plan sign up for another race! Also, swimming is fun and great low impact workouts!!

Hello all. I just found Kashi’s community and this challenge. This week I just started trying to do a little weight training (free weights at my middle schools weight room) and a little cardio. I hope to see my endurance and strength improve. I lifted weights in college and really enjoyed it. I hope that comes back.

I love to pump iron. I love how strong my body feels when my muscles are tired from lifting. It’s so empowering.
