Change up your workouts
Alternating workout activities keeps exercise feeling fun and challenging. And because your body has to work harder to adapt to new activities and motions, research suggests a varied workout also might increase your metabolism. Today, add a new activity to your workout. Who knows, you might discover you really enjoy it.

I did a workout video that I taped from the FitTV channel.
I’m visiting a different city and am going to figure out a workout to do that won’t hurt my injured knee or shoulder. any recommendations?
i actually enrolled in a free trial membership to this fitness club down the street from my house and walked there instead of driving.

Ashley, I’ve been a student and performer of Middle Eastern (Belly) Dance for over 2 and a half years. It is a wonderful work out and can be as intense or relaxing as you would like! I suggest seeing if there is a place to take a class around you or perhaps even purchase some DVDs (though search around before you decide on which ones to purchase). There are days where I am dancing and find myself with an intense cardio work-out. However, earlier this year I broke my tailbone and was still able to take it easy enough as to not hurt myself more yet have a good time. If you speak to a Yoga instructor, as well, he or she would be able to help you find moves that you can do that would not bother your injuries and may, in fact, help them!
As for me and exercising: I dance, as stated, but I also am trying to change my life so that I walk and ride my bike more and drive less . . . better for me and the environment! If I already walk to certain places, I change up the path and have a “short path” for days where I’m not feeling up to much and a “long path” for days where I just want to go!
I’ve started doing the 300 workout. I’m only at 126 reps but just started last Thursday. I also do kickboxing and ab work. I’d like to do more during the week. My goal is to workout 5-6 times a week. I hope by posting on this site whenever I workout I will do better.
I did 45 minutes of high cardio kickboxing at least 3 days a week.
I walked three miles this morning and I will be doing two and hlf more during my lunchtime.
I have started doing some track workouts at a local high school. It’s a great way to mix up runs during the week. I usually go for about an hour/ hour and a half, and do a combination of jogging, tempo running and sprinting, with push-ups, crunches, and lunges between sets. It’s a hard workout, but a great way to add some variety and keep things interesting!
I normally am a walker and did that Saturday nite and played paintball on Sunday. Now that is a difference that I am feeling today.
I worked out to a dance tape for 34 minutes and laughed with friends afterward for an hour!
