Breathe deeply

Most of us unconsciously breathe in a shallow way, not fully exhaling all of the carbon dioxide from our bodies. As a result, we don’t benefit from being fully oxygenated.

In the next 24 hours, try this breathing technique: From your abdomen, breathe-in through your nose and out through your mouth, for 10 seconds each time. Practicing 10 minutes a day, even when not feeling stressed, can improve relaxation responses. Although it seems like a small thing, deep breathing is pretty important.

Always consult a physician before starting any exercise routine.

I have tried a squared breathing technique for refocusing before. It will be great to another breathing technique.

What I love about this challenge is that you can do it just about anywhere. It doesn’t matter if you’re at your desk, in your car or sitting outside we all need to take more moments to get centered.

Thanks for having this challenge. I agree it can be done anywhere and will continue using it. I am happy that I joined the community. I remember when Kashi started out in the late 80’s. Keep up with making the delicious products.

This technique also helps stretch out your lungs, so they are in better shape when you do vigorous exercising

I never realized just how great one could feel after breathing deeply for several minutes! It totally relaxed me! I’ll be sure to remember this technique once school starts and we have a lot of tests!

I love this challenge. I get instant, calming, stress relief within a couple of breaths. Especially if I close my eyes as I breathe.

Ten minutes flies rather quickly as you do this. I did it before I went to sleep.

Something I’ve learned as a learning massage therapist is that breathing deeply pushes lymph fluids through your body. The release of these fluids causes an all over feel good sensation and deep breathing and lots of water are something we are advised to use every day.
