Where does the fresh water come from?

In Los Angeles were were told to cut water consumption by 15%. We have gone well beyond that. True, our grass is not the prettiest on the block, but what we’re saving in water and dollars more than makes up for the temporary lack of green.
I have empty gallon jugs in my kitchen and bathroom. While waiting for the water to get hot, I fill up the jugs! I then use the “jug water” to water houseplants or take them outside to water flowers or the vegetable garden.
I am going to try to talk my boyfriend into turning the water off while he brushes his teeth.
I am going to wait until I get fuller loads of clothing to wash to save energy and water by washing less often.
