Take a 30-minute walk

Walking has numerous health benefits, including strengthening your heart, bones, muscles, and joints. The best part is that regardless of your fitness level, most people can do it.

Today, challenge yourself to walk for 30 minutes. Because recent research has shown that exercise doesn’t need to be ‘all at once’ to be beneficial, feel free to break up the 30 minutes any way you like (e.g. 10 minutes after breakfast, 10 minutes after lunch, etc.).

Always consult a physician before starting any exercise routine.

I went with my sister to the park, although the walk wasn’t 30 minutes, we also ran around a bit… I did an hour walk yesterday, too… :-)

This one’s easy for me—my commute is walking 10 blocks uphill to the cable car stop and 6 blocks downhill to the office, 15 minutes 2x’s per day.

I have recently took up walking as my main form of exercise. I love it, and I get my mom and neighbor to come along so we are all burning calories and building muscle. Its a great way to reflect and think, and also to visit.

I’ve already clocked a 30 minute walk around the neighborhood this morning with the pooch and before the day is done we’ll probably take 1-2 more walks. We’ve been able to meet lots of cool people on our walks which makes it easier to get out in this heat.

I am able to walk on our local high school track. One trip around equals 1/4 mile so I walk 8 laps. I will add a lap each week

Walked about 4 miles around the high school track by my roommate’s house. The marching band was there so it was quite entertaining to have some music.

Walked 6.25 miles today..part of my 50 miles a week program. On Sundays I try to get in a 12 mile walk. I bought a Garmin Forefunner personal GPS to be more accurate then with the old pedometer. It also has a heart rate monitor…Its a toy but keeps me interested

I went on a geocaching expedition with my husband today. We walked (hiked) well over 30 minutes. It felt great!

I walk around the lake every morning (4.2 miles). It is a great way to start the day, especially on these brisk Fall mornings. I feel much better on the days that I walk.

I have been making a point to walk 30 mins every day on the tread mill. I have been inspired by the programs by Dr. Mehmet Oz and Dr. Michael Roizen. I owe it to myself to stay health and vibrant as long as possible!

I try to take my dogs for a 3-5 mile walk at least 4 days a week. It doesn’t do much for them but it’s nice for me!!
