Cleanse and rejuvenate with juice
Packed with nutrients, drinking freshly juiced fruits and vegetables helps nourish and support your body’s natural detoxification processes. While the health properties of juices are many and varied, each juice has unique qualities that can support your journey towards health. What’s great about fresh juice is that even the less appealing can taste delicious in combination with sweet juices like apple, grape, orange, and pomegranate. When you’re working on inner purity and wholeness, try drinking juices known for their health-supporting properties. For example, if you want to support your digestion, try boosting your favorite juice recipe with some lemon juice, which helps stimulate the release of digestive enzymes. Interested in supporting your liver’s natural detoxification processes? Splash some dandelion greens in. Or, if you want to help replenish your body with natural minerals, add a little beet juice to your glass for a unique twist. Today, challenge yourself to learn more about the benefits of various fresh juices and then plan on drinking some to supplement your health program. When you’re ready to indulge, try juicing your own fruits and vegetables or head to a local juice bar.

I bought a gallon of 100% OJ. I know it’s better to eat the oranges. But drinking the juice is better than drinking nothing or a soda and not getting the natural vitamin C.

I am very concerned about this suggestion. My doctor and nutritionist have both suggested that I NOT drink juices; it is far better to eat the fruit or veggie whole. Juciing (even making our own; I am never going to suggest commercial juice)tends to get us in the lazy mode and we substitute far too much.

I bought a juicer from a friend, but don’t make nearly enough effort to use it. I leave it in the break room at the office, so I’m going to start having informal juicing parties on Friday mornings. BYO fruits and veggies! I like to use apple juice as a base, then add things like cucumber and ginger or whatever I have handy. I’d like to experiment with greens because I know they’re really packed with nutrients. Any good recipes are welcome!
