When it comes to healthcare, think prevention
There’s no question: US healthcare costs are skyrocketing – and we’re getting less for our dollar. National healthcare systems like those in Canada, France, and, indeed, much of Europe, cost about half what we spend in the US’s privatized system – and their citizens live longer, too. Short of real reform, there is one thing you can do for yourself and your family, and that is act preventively. Today, challenge yourself to control your own healthcare budget in small ways by: • Schedule regular check-ups with your doctor • Optimize your diet and exercise regularly • Sign up for all age- and gender-appropriate health screenings

Since signing up I have joined our local Fitness Lady and have been going to water aerobics 3 to 4 times a week. Who knew!!! Don’t know if I have really lost any weight, yet, but I do have more energy. Needed that…

Prevention is the key! But remember not all countries have as good a prevention screening program as the US (screening mamograms do not start until one is 50 in the U.K., way too late).
We all have to promote health and be active in caring about our own bodies, as no one else will do it for you. Make healthy living choices a part of every day life, not just when you want to loose a few pounds for the summer.

Started going to our community gym and walking on the treadmill! I burned over 100 calories on my last visit :)

Started water aerobics/water pilates one week ago. In today’s class the teacher said we burned 600 calories in one hour. Of course, I could not keep up for the whole hour but I tried and stayed the whole time.
