In addition to the exercise—when out and about I park in the lot area farthest from the store, library, etc. to get in some walking, sunshine and fresh air.

This week, I took a walk by the river for 35 minutes before my massage appointment. It was an easy day at work, and I felt even better after moving my arms and legs in a natural environment. Then the massage was more rewarding:)

Since joining an exercise club for women, I am finding myself moving about more. Getting up & down more, walking through the house more — feeling good as I’m moving. This is helpful in reinforcing the exercise habit for me.

I had my first outdoor run of the summer this morning! Definitely not my last!

after trying many things over many years I went back to Jazzercise. I am up to 4-5 classes a week and it feels great! The music, the dance moves and energy you get from a class full of woman reaching for similar goals, keeps you moving. In fact the instructer once said “the key to life is to keep on moving” and it is!

I am limited by arthitis and back injuries, but the important thing is to keep moving. Pain is decreased for the long run. It might ache and be very stiff and sore, but not moving means possible loss of the ability to move. I have found it is harder to ‘get going” if I don’t do activity. Not whe in severe pain, of course, but for daily maintenance, I have to stretch and do what exercises I can. Swiming is the best exercise and the lest painful for me.

Today I increased my walking by 100%. Okay, I still have a long way to go but I doubled my distance.
