today is day one of my journey to weight loss with Kashi. I have been exercising for months, 1 hour of cardio 6 days a week and have not seen a pound come off. So I decided to try something completely different “the Kashi foods” to see if it can assist me with weight loss.
Wish me luck it will be a long road I’m sure.

    Hello all!

I have lost 34 pounds in 7 months. I started to go to the gym in October of ‘08, and have gone consistently since. From October to January I lost no weight. However, I started to lose weight in January when I changed my eating, and began lifting weights three times a week.

I am almost at my goal, but I want to lose a few more pounds. However, I am very fearful of going into the maintenance mode. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I eat about 1200-1400 calories per day currently, and go to the gym 5 to 6 days a week. When I do cardio my goal is a 700 calorie workout, plus 100 sit-ups. On the other days I do a muscle conditioning class, and around 150 calorie cardio workout.

Can anyone advise on going from a weight loss to weight maintenance plan?

Just make sure your combined calories eaten and calories burned equal no less than 1200. Below 1200 is when your body starts conserving every calorie you eat, and can actually make it a lot harder to lose weight. Weight management usually is between 1500 to 2500 calories per day (combined total), but it really varies by person. As long as you keep exercising, maintaining your weight should not be hard.

No one wants to be overweight! The most difficult thing to be able to control to keep your weight in check is mindless grazing. It is not always easy to do, but eat to live don’t live to eat. Some type of daily regimen is needed by everyone; but do not diet, your body needs nourishment. Diets and diet aids do not help anyone! The only way to successfully lose weight and get the body that you deserve is by using the right information. This information is in the book Lose Weight Using Four Easy Steps which can be ordered through the website www.bbotw.com Everyone who has gotten a copy of this book has lost weight and become healthier.

I am down to only 1/2 lb before I am no longer considered “over weight”, and only 10 lbs to go to hit my target weight – Wahoo!

I have been on Weight Watchers in the past and lost about 25 lbs. The problem I had was I was always hungry and eventually became consumed with counting points. This raised my stress level which is not good. I have tried Kashi products in the past and liked them. I recently received a coupon for a free entree and tried the sweet and sour chicken. It was very delicious! I admint, I was worried that I would not like it or be able to chew it very well (I wear a full set of braces) but I LOVED the taste and the chicken and vegetables were very tender. I already have Kashi products on my shopping list. I hope to lose 10 more pounds, and I think with the help of Kashi products I will be able to do it!

I’m not on any particular weight loss program, but I did make a decision to eliminate high fructose corn syrup from my diet entirely. In addtion to doing that, I began to buy Kashi hot ceral, kashi oatmeal and kaski granola bars. It has been 3 weeks since I began and I have lost 5 pounds from diet alone. I bring in my Kashi oatmeal or hot cereal for breakfast, use the Kashi granola bars as my snacks in between meals or late at night, and cook (using a slow cooker) for the rest of my meals (in additon to steaming frozen broccoli). All I can say is THANK YOU KASHI!

edited to add: I forgot to say that I’ve been drinking a lot of green tea and herbal tea in place of the regular sodas and sugary drinks that i used to drink (sweetened with stevia). ok, that’s all. :o)

I just started a weight loss program. It’s not a set diet program, i.e. weight watchers, it’s just me watching what I eat. I have health issues, so I have to be careful. I’m trying to incorporate Kashi into my diet. I need high fiber, low fat and low carbs. I’ve lost 23 pounds in the last 6 weeks and have 50 more to go….so we will see what happens..!!

My one problem with using Kashi on my weight loss program is the amount of carbs in their products. I am not on a low-carb diet, but I am on a diet that balances calories, carbs, proteins, and fats. Most Kashi products are over 25 carbs, when your limit is 100/day, this is a tough product to use. So far this year, I have lost 29 lbs and have 21 to go.

Kashi keeps me energised and feeling like I don’t have to give up treats, because to me, Kashi products are a treat!! I have lost 68 pounds in the last year…doing it slowly as my doctor suggested….and I am planning to lose even more!!! Kashi products make me feel fulfilled, because I just HAVE to have something to sink my teeth into, and Kashi TLC and othr products, gives me the satisfaction from chewing and tasting and they fill me up with all those whole grains and fiber!!! To anyone who is trying to lose weight: Keep trying and include Kashi in your diet plan, you will be glad you did!!!

Using the Kashi products has made such a difference for me and my husband. We’ve stopped buying the candy bar in the vending machine and exchanged it for one of Kashi’s bars. Better for us, less calories and satifies our sweet tooth. The cereal is the best. I take a small seving in a baggie to work and use as a morning snack with a piece of fruit. We have been using the Kashi products since the first of the year and together we have lost 53 lbs. Love these products and we encourage others to try them.
