I often use the stairs in an airport instead of the escalator.
I worked in a five story building. I set up a little routine where I would take walk the stairs on the hour six times a day. I used Outlook to remind me. It only took five minutes and it would get my heartrate into the aearobic heart range. I also did some math. I climbed the equivalent of the empire state building every six days…

Monday-Friday at work I take the stairs to the 2nd Deck many times throughout the day and have no need for the elevator. We live in a rancher-style house so there is much walking throughout the house as well!!
when possible i do take the stairs, after my knee injury two years ago , my physical therapist said the more you work it the better it will get.
I always take the stairs at work. It gives me a chance to excercise and its faster than the elevator anyway!
Taking the stairs in my office building gives me that chance to move around!
I have been constantly taking the stairs for the past two years. I actually get mad when I have to take an escalator or elevator. I am always going out of the way to find the stairs but it’s all good in my book. ha
I will take the stairs every opportunity I get.
