Dine in
Cozy, romantic, and satisfyingly healthful – what could be sweeter than dining in? Eating more meals at home not only promises less chance of overdoing it on fatty, processed, or caloric foods, it also saves you money (not to mention reducing waste in terms of takeout packaging and car use). Today, challenge yourself to cut out one of your regular restaurant expeditions in favor of a home cooked meal.

I love to cook, so I frequently eat in, but often make “one pot wonders” since it’s just me and they are simpler. Tonight I’m going to make a real restaurant style meal (with side dishes and everything) and challenge myself to sit down at the table and enjoy it as if I were at a restaurant. I’m going to break out the real napkins and everything!

Our family of 6 much prefers eating in. We prefer fresh veggie choices and lots of whole grains. That is why Kashi is a fave with my teens even when they need a quick mean between school and rehersals. With one a carnivore and the other a veggivore it is hard to get them to agree on anything…but avoiding the eating out syndrome is one thing they share.
