Since I am a mom. My work hours are pretty long. I am going to try to add some traditional exercises to my regular mom routine. Maybe lift weights not just babies. Maybe go for a jog not just run after kids. I think I can incorporate my boys into it too.

now that my son, ivan, is more than 12 pounds i do simple lifts with him. exercise for me, fun for him. also, some days i take a few minutes for simple stretching routines. ivan gets a kick out of watching me move about and it’s encouraging his development with moving his body confidently.

I work fulltime but I do have an opportunity during lunchtime to work out, theres a room that no one else uses and I go in there sometime to read a book so today when I go in there I’m going to do some cardio and sits and etc…no one else will even be able to tell that I am doing it.

I will park as far as possible from the building where I work, and I shall take the stairs every opportunity I get.

I purchased a membership to the fitness center located in the sub basement of my office building. I agreed along with my coworker to go three times a week (Tues – Thurs.) starting tomorrow.

I am goting to try to walk more instead of waiting for people to bring me things. No sweets and less coffee.. More WATER and more fruit and yogurt instead of cookies and donuts.

As I rode the elevator at work, I always thought to myself “why are we stopping on the second floor? It’s only a flight of stairs, those people are lazy.” Now, I’m working on the second floor and have to eat my words… every day for 2 months I’ve taken the stairs instead of the elevator.

I will begin doing 30 deep knew bends (squats) each workday. Ten in the morning, ten at lunch, and 10 in the afternoon.

I am going to walk outside during my break at work and if it is raining outside I am going to walk around the building. I will walk everyday.

Working out during lunch time is the best! It gives me a nice break and sets me up for the afternoon. In the morning – too tired. In the evening – too hungry. Lunch time is perfect! I schedule it as a meeting with myself so I don’t put off going.

I work for the American Heart Association – I know better than most people how important it is to move my body, yet so many days I am so busy that I just never do it. I like this challenge. I saw the comment about the unused room – we have tons of those! I am not going to let the weather deter me any longer. I will go in an empty room and do some squats and some lunges and give my heart some love!

I don’t see a lot of men posting on this site, but I wanted to add comments as well. I run a call center and I like to do push ups and sit ups early in the morning or at a free time during the day. I close the door, and no one bothers me. I recommend a couple ideas. I issued a weight lose challenge at work and have 21 people in it. They walk around the building, do stairs, and some have brought small free weights (ankle weights). It is awesome to see so many people get involved, and no one looks awkward doing it. Good luck every one!

Keep a set of hand weights at your desk. When you’re on the phone, reading a long e-mail or simply have two minutes to kill (like the two minutes it’s going to take your lunch to heat up in the microwave), pick up your hand weights and do some reps. After a while, reaching for the weights will become a mindless, habitual practice. Make sure you don’t overdo it, though!

I’m actually still in school, and i was active during school hours because of PE. But after this semester, I’ll have fulfilled my PE requirements. I’m going to try running or using the weight room during my breaks in between classes

for me it’s all about making the time. best way to do this? schedule it like an appointment or meeting. plan it, block it off on your calendar, and take the time to go for a walk, hit the gym, do the stairs, or whatever. even if it’s fifteen minutes, you’ll be glad you did it!

to Pixie, i would suggest standing whenever you can. stretch whenever possible. then add in some knee bends, bicep curls or even simple balancing poses that help tone the fine muscles in your body.

Does anyone know what effects wearing ankle weights during the dya has on your legs? I wear them and my legs are tired at the end of the day but is it toning them or what?
