Wine provides millions the world over with a pleasurable coda to meals and social gatherings. The thing is, how does the wine get there? Answer: By a complex global distribution system that produces significant greenhouse gas emissions. What can you do? Challenge yourself to order larger bottles – 1.5 liter (L) magnums, for instance – that have less carbon impact per ounce.

What about the BOX,... the quality of box wine is getting better every year. What is the impact of that container vs. glass?

My neighbor and I have started buying larger bottles not only for the cost but for the over all waste.

I have been not only attempting to buy larger bottles, but also buy more locally produced Michigan wine that does not have to be transported very far.

I work in a night club and convinced my boss to buy gallon bottles rather than single serving bottles of wine because of the price difference, I did not know it was better for the enviorment. BONUS!
