Tighten your belt…for real
In lean economic times we tend to fall back on comfortable – and sometimes unhealthy – habits to soothe ourselves. Too much reliance on high-fat, low-nutrient comfort foods, for instance, can offer a fleeting sense of reward. Today, challenge yourself to evaluate any less-than=healthy habits you may be falling into and find alternate ways to feel good in the moment.

I have increased my time at the gym and also increased intake of high fiber grains. I really do feel better.
I have been eating cereal for two meals at least 4 days a week. My daughter and I both joined a gym almost a year ago and I have lost almost 30 pounds, and have run my second Gate River Run in Jacksonville Florida (15K)
My Family and I are having Brown Rice, Pinto Beans, and Turkey Sausage with Taco Seasoning for Supper.
Yesterday for Supper We had Brown Rice and Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast.
today i eat a heathy breakfast lunch and dinner and took the stairs
I do >1000 cal x 5 days in the gym via cardio,.... picking up the pieces after shoulder surgery, which sucks!
Today I will start walking for 30 minutes a day in the evenings. I am watching what I am eating and have been eating more veggies and fruits. I will eat less bread and more multigrains, nuts and seeds.
Keep away from sugary snack. Have more water
iI have started to enjoy life especially with the walks
I am placing the fruit bowl in easy reach on a small table near my computer desk. That when I get the munchies I have apples, pears and bananas I can grab instead of something unhealthy. Trying to avoid caffeine as much as possible too.
Today I increased my fiber and ate yougart for lunch. Skipped coffee for breakfast and drank green tea instead.
I will work on making sure I drink enough water, especially since this is St. Patrick’s Day and it is the one time we have corned beef.
I love chocolate, but now for snacks I’m bringing carrots, or apples.
I love to cook, so I often relax by baking and eating sweet treats like cupckaes. I will find other ways to relax at the end of stressful days, like reading or soaking in the tub.
I am giving away my junk food. On days when I don’t feel like going to the gym, I will at least go for a walk outside.
taking a nice walk in the evening is always more satisfying than any dessert I could eat. I just wish I could always remember that in the moment.
I have been really watching everything that I eat and even write it all down in a book daily. This is something a good friend told me to do about 2 yrs ago when I decided to start my healthy eating lifestyle. To date I have lost about 80 lbs and feel so much better about myself. I also work out 3-5 days a week as my time permits. It is funny how you can get addicted to working out and eating healthy. Fresh fruits and vegetables are regular staples for meals and snacks and I love them all.
Walking, yoga, eating smaller portions, cutting back on sweets (especially chocolate and cookies), and paying attention to each day’s food and exercise are what I hope will get me to that elusive flat belly!
I am running a mile on the treadmill tomorrow!
By working out everyday and eating more fruits and veg
Eating lighter and have more veggies
