Get moving
Jump-start your body and feel great by adding 20 minutes of physical activity to your day in the next 24 hours.
Always consult a physician before starting any exercise routine.
I walk to the subway and back each day and that is at least 10 minutes. I also take stairs instead of escalators. Today I will try to get out and go for a 10 minute walk.
I did youga this morning with the Inhale program
I teach a Senior Aerobics class (love those ladies!), stretch nearly each morning for about 10-15 minutes, and run thru the potato fields we have here in Maine! Along with any weight training and hiking I can fit in a week. I do not solidify a plan because it steals some of the joy & freedom from being active and well.
I try to do 20minutes to 1/2 hour on the elliptical machine each morning. And trust me – it’s a workout just getting down to the basement to get on the machine some days! That’s already three flights of stairs, one bathroom break and endless questions of “am I out of my mind.”
Despite the heat & humidity this morning, I did my strength training routine. Today was back, shoulders and abs. As usual, my cat, Fancy, followed me downstairs and she enjoyed the breeze from the ceiling fans as much as I did.
My brother had me start running with him and our dog every night this week. We live in Florida and it is 90 degrees and humid. One lap makes me ache. But he’s still pushing me.
I went to the gym—having been going 3-5X per week since joining May 21, 2007. Today I did 45 minutes the treadmill at “fat burner” level 3 and worked off more than 350 calories. Yay!
HELP! I broke my ankle and I can’t stay away from the ice cream!!
