Think hydrate over hibernate

Challenge Yourself for: 24 Hours

Winter weather can be as drying as heat, so remember to get the water you need to replace what you’ve lost. As a general rule, experts say adults need about eight 8-oz. glasses a day. Average exercisers need 1.5 to 2.5 glasses more. Today, challenge yourself to rehydrate with nature’s best drink at the level your body needs.

Always consult a physician before starting any exercise routine.

I keep my Gaiam bottle right on my desk with me. I think it holds about 24 ounces. I fill it anywhere from 3- 5 times a day. I can really tell when I haven’t had enough H2O… I get headaches, and my skin starts to get a scaly feeling.

BPA H2O water bottles are helpful if you refill them when you go to work!!

I loove water! Thats ALL I drink, besides my ocassional glass of red wine :) Seldom do I drink juices, which is bad, I could benefit from the nutrients. I quit sodas 10 years ago. The caffine makes me too jittery. Now I cant handle the carbonation in mineral water! Im like a fishy..I loves me some water!!

I’ve noticed that if I don’t drink enough water, my lips are unusually dry and cracked and my skin is definitely dry especially with the winter weather. So, Knowing how essential water is to our health, my entire household has committed to police each other to drink more water each day. To make drinking a more pleasant experience, we drop in slices of lemon, lime or orange to flavor our waters. It helps! Surprisingly, it makes us drink more water!

One thing that helped me get off soda, cold turkey, was drinking juice or water from a can/bottle. And now I’m able to drink water however. I drink a lot of juice still, so I’m not getting tired of water.

I find that using eco-friendly water bottles has increased my water intake strictly due to the fact that I can easily refill many times throughout the day :) Water = yum!

I have 2 27 oz containers at work that I use for water. One is always fill so that it can come to room temp now that it is still cold out. It’s also a nice little break from my desk because I’m usually refilling them 3-4 times a day. I have the same system at home. I’m drinking water from the moment I wake up until I go to bed. It’s great.

I just ate an apple, like an hour or two ago, and I still don’t feel like moving off this couch. I also was once told that bananas should give you energy, but I have yet to find anything with out caffine that gives me a boost like coffee.

I only drink maytbe 1-2 glasses of water a day though, I wonder how that effects my energy levels. But I tried a challenge like this in a health class in hs once, and I just ended up pissing out all my water.

I heard that for those who no longer want to drink coffee but still crave or want the caffeine, Yerba Mate tea is a great alternative. I have tried Yerba Mate but not enough to form any opinion. I like it though. Has anyone else tried this tea?

Am I the only one who drinks hot water? It keeps me warm in the winter.

It is bad for you to drink that much water. It makes the nutrients go from your body too quickly. It is also bad for your kidneys.

I don’t drink soda at all (I think it’s disgusting), and I take a water bottle to school with me everyday, and manage to finish it at lunch. Although, when I get home, I drink at least 8 glasses of milk. I’m a milk-a-holic. But I think that counts as part of my daily intake of water?

I drink a minimum of 12 cups of water a day. It is the best drink in the world!!! And the most refreshing!

if a beverage has caffeine, it does not count toward the recommended daily intake. enjoy your caffeine, by all means, but caffeinated beverages do not count. i struggle with this—i rarely drink anything other than coffee. this will be a great challenge for me!

OMG liquids! I just about made it back from taking my doggie for a walk – gotta pee every 15 mins! Guess I’m getting rid of a lot of bad stuff! I hope so. Just love this site and everyone’s comments, what a great support group. TY

I’ve been working hard lately to cut out the soda and caffeine and Ive been quit successful so far. Now Im trying to make sure that I drink enough water so I thought this would be the perfect challenge to start with.

About the tea…I read somewhere that you shouldn’t drink tea with meals. Instead wait 30 minutes after meals because it messes with the absorption of nutrients. I don’t want to give wrong data so you should do your own research but I found it very interesting. I have switched to drinking water or diet soda when I am eating instead now.
