A handful of nuts like raw almonds or cashews have a heart protective effect. While they are good for you, just be sure not to over do it. I make a nice trail mix with Pepitas, raw almonds, raw cashews, Kashi go lean crunch, sunflower seeds and dried cranberries. This is delicious and energizing.

I keep a bag of almonds in the car. I always pack water and take an apple with me. When I want to snack (and not stop for fast food) I find that 5 or 6 almonds with an apple do the trick. A Kashi bar is a pretty good thing to eat too. Yours, Margaret

I love the area around my house in the fall for nuts. We live on a farm and we get peaanuts out of the field as soon as they are plowed up. YUM!!!

Whenever bridge is played at my house, I serve a combination of almonds, pecans and macadamia nuts to my guests.

Almonds, cashews and pine nuts are yummy on salad too! Our children all love them too, which makes for easy snacks on the go.

I add nuts to everything! I think there’s a nut comparable to every meal. When it snowed my dad always bought roasted peanuts in the shell and ate them with me sitting in front of the window while we watched the snow fall. Nuts are a comfort food for me with good memories. I guess you could say I’m a nut for nuts!

I love almonds. So i put them in a little container and put them in my purse so when i am out and hungry i can grab some nuts and stay full and not have to buy food.

I mix unsalted almonds with roasted cashews. It’s a wonderful snack (in moderation, of course, to prevent weight gain)

I have a variety of shelled nuts in a large bowl on my kitchen table. Whenever you walk in the kitchen for a snack, there they are! So very handy. You won’t have to search all over creation for a crunchy snack!

I find that when I add 1 ounce of nuts to my morning oatmeal or cold cereal I now longer get that mid morning hunger attack and can easily go until lunch without the desire to have a snack.
