Get fit during a flick

By Kashi Read more daily challenge, holidays, home life, and toning up
Challenge Yourself for: 24 Hours

Lots of us spend time on the sofa watching holiday movies this time of year. That doesn’t mean you have to remain sedentary for two hours! Today, challenge yourself to incorporate push-ups, sit-ups, or treadmill time into the equation, either mid-film or during intermission. _Always consult a physician before starting any exercise routine._

I ride my recumbent bike 2x’s daily as cannot walk on treadmill due to back injury. Also bought myself 2# hand weights, ride my bike and then do weights, then onto floor for back exercises given to me by doc! Used to ride for an hour each time with no weight loss. Doc said switch to 30 minutes at higher resistance. BAM, instant weight loss and toning!!! I ride watching TV too as time passes w/o you knowing it!

I am addicted to the show “House” I can get a good 45 minute workout on the treadmill or even doing a pilates dbd on the computer while watching a recorded episode. It takes my focus off of having to exercise indoors on inclimate days.

I spend every evening on my recumbant bike enjoying my favorite shows guilt-free while my kids hop around on their jumping balls. We all get exercise!

I like to get on the treadmill at a slow pace when I need to read for class. Surprisingly I get my school work done and do not suffer motion sickness like I would reading in a moving vehicle.

TV watching is limied primarily to educational material. A few sets of sit-ups and stretches or yoga poses start and/or end tube tunings. ;)

Great Idea. I went to see Four Christmas’s at the Theater on New Year’s Eve with a group of friends. I actually brought my spring-loaded hand grips with me and exercised my grip motion through-out the movie. I have to admit…........ I enjoyed a little pop corn as well! Happy New Year!
