Earth-friendly workout gear abounds—who knew? From recycled yoga mats to earth-friendly shoes, there are a host of options available. Perhaps most important: Consider how you travel to your workout site (why drive when you can walk or ride your bike?). Today, do a few minutes of Internet research investigating environment-friendly workout gear options. Here are some ideas:
• Use recycled products or materials whenever possible.
• Find a re-usable water bottle in a safe metal or plastic.
• Wear synthetic shoes to avoid leather.

Always consult a physician before starting any exercise routine.

The best thing you can do for the environment is to use the things you already have.

Can you imagine how much your NOT filling the landfills, if you just take a reusable water bottle? I work out 5days/week, man that can add up. I’m definitely looking into purchasing some new winter wear that has recycled polyester/fleece products.

I guess I would have had to actually work out to succeed at this one! or maybe I’m ultra-green from not having used any equipment whatsoever! haha. I’m off to try again. Actually – my yoga mat is from freecycle.org so I guess I did better than I thought.
